Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite television show averaged 521,000 viewers for TBS, according to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.com. The viewership count was down from the 624,000 viewership average for last week’s show. Dynamite finished with a 0.14 rating in 18-49 demo, down from last week’s 0.17 rating in the same demo.
Powell’s POV: The Max streaming numbers are not included in the rating or viewership count listed above. Tuesday’s NXT on The CW averaged 686,000 viewers and a 0.17 rating in the 18-49 demo. One year ago, the April 24, 2024, edition of Dynamite on TBS delivered 683,000 viewers and a 0.23 rating in the 18-49 demographic for the Dynasty fallout edition.
Constantly putting unwatchable shit on TV leads to people not watching.
There was wrestling on every single night for the past few days, guessing by Wednesday people had enough.
I definitely had enough! But the bigger issue was the NBA playoffs.
Wasn’t that an issue on Tuesday?
Who’s to say the playoffs weren’t an issue? They were coming out of WrestleMania weekend. Maybe they would have performed even better without NBA playoffs competition. Funny, though, I don’t remember you ever taking issue when I pointed out that the NBA playoffs played a part in Raw/Smackdown ratings declines in past years.
Exactly, there was a compelling reason to watch NXT while AEW has nothing to offer but the same old small, bland guys doing the same flips and dives as always.
The excuse of NHL/NBA playoffs was there for NXT as well
