Logo_WWE_dnWWE broadcast team member Mauro Ranallo has been named the new host of AXS’s “Inside MMA” television show. “I’m blessed to be doing WWE on a weekly basis, and I’ve got Showtime Championship Boxing and Glory Kickboxing, so all that was missing from my combat sports palate was a regular gig covering mixed martial arts,” Ranallo told SI.com. “I’m ready to put another piece of food on this plate that some people say might already be full, but I’m at my best when I’m working.”

Powell’s POV: Mauro, who is replacing Kenny Rice, will be reunited with longtime friend and broadcast partner Bas Rutten. The show will air on Friday nights beginning March 25, the same night that the New Japan Pro Wrestling show airs on AXS. Mauro gave up the NJPW gig when he signed with WWE, and his spot as the play-by-play voice is now occupied by Jim Ross. Obviously, Mauro will continue to be the voice of WWE Smackdown.
