Matt Taven comments on his contractual status with ROH

By Jason Powell, ProWrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet)

ROH Champion Matt Taven spoke with Jay Reddick of the Orlando Sentinel to promote Friday’s Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view and was asked about his contract expiring his month. “You don’t get to have too many surprises in this business, but I’m keeping this one close to the vest,” Taven said.

“This is a life-changing decision and a million different things go into it, so I have to weigh my options. No matter what, I’m grateful for every opportunity I’ve been given so far in my career and I don’t forget where I came from. I’m just going into this with an open mind and let the chips fall where they may.” Read the full interview at OrlandoSentinel.com.

Powell’s POV: Taven’s deal with ROH is up sometime this month and I’m genuinely curious to see whether he stays or opts to go elsewhere. Taven’s contract status is one of the reasons that Friday’s title match with Rush, who is unbeaten in ROH, is so interesting. Join me for live coverage of ROH Death Before Dishonor as the show airs on pay-per-view on Friday night. The interview also features Taven discussing the job he gave up to focus solely on making it pro wrestling, winning the ROH Championship at Madison Square Garden, and more.
