Charley Caruso checked in on the NXT Takeover: WarGames Pre-Show. She was joined by Peter Rosenberg and Booker T. Rosenberg talked about how hype he was because he never thought he would see WarGames happen. Charley acknowledged that Booker T had WarGames experience. Booker acknowledged it is a Dusty Rhodes creation and that there will be “Broken Shattered Dreams” tonight. Booker talked about being in the ring with legends in his WarGames matches. The panel then did their Network Free Trial plugs. The Drew McIntyre/Andrade Almas highlight package from this week’s NXT show aired…

Charley thanked the Marmozets for providing the NXT: Takeover theme. They then cut to a Women’s Championship Picture video package featuring Asuka’s relinquishment of the Women’s Championship and the road to the fatal four way match to determine a new Women’s Champion. Of course the women in the match were Mae Young Classic winner, the Pirate Princess Kairi Sane, The Iconic Peyton Royce, Sanity’s Nikki Cross, and Ember Moon. Christy St. Cloud was conducting an interview with Peyton Royce but Billie Kay took the mic away and gave Royce a “favorable” interview. Kay started a word association game. Charley cut to the commentators: Mauro Ranallo, Nigel McGuinness, and Percy Watson. Percy talked about watching War Games matches as a kid. Nigel talked about how stacked this card was. The commentators then ran down the NXT Takeover: WarGames card. Mauro called the WarGames match “a barbaric battlefield”.
Mauro explained the rules of the WarGames and there was this long bullet point list that popped up on the television. There were a bunch of intervals. Long story short, the three team captains start. The teams get released one-by-one. Once all teams are in, a victory is possible…
Cut to the panel. Rosenberg said for the second time tonight that “this is the one time where Raw and Smackdown wrestlers go against each other” or whatever that quote is. We’re going to hear that all weekend. Charley hyped up the “Chash of Champions” live event. They then cut to the WarGames highlight package from this past week’s NXT episode…
They showed tweets from DDP, Booker T, Ric Flair, and Triple H on their thoughts on WarGames. Charley inquired to Booker about his WarGames experience. Booker said it’s not about the legends, it’s about the young guys. Booker said they are all hungry. Booker went over his usual commentator lines. Rosenberg brought up Heyman’s Dangerous Alliance and other stables in the past WarGames and how teamwork is important. Rosenberg and Booker then comically bickered about Booker’s past Harlem Heat loses. They went to predictions. Rosenberg and Booker agreed again by picking Adam Cole’s Undisputed Era to win. That closed out the pre-show…
