NXT Live Event
Louisville, Kentucky
Report by Dot Net reader Ben Shearin

1. No Way Jose beat Hugo Knox. I went to get a drink…it was probably awful.

2. Andrade “Cien” Armas over Beautiful Blake. There were chants for Murphy all match, which closed out with a pretty sick DDT after the knees in the corner.

3. Bayley over Alexa Bliss. Alexa dominated the match. Bayley came back with a flurry and hit the worm followed by a Bayley to Belly for the win.

4. Hideo Itami over Angelo Dawkins. Comedy match to start. Hideo kicked Dawkins in the butt a few times. Big man domination by Dawkins throughout. Hideo finished it with a running knee.

5. The Revival over American Alpha to retain the NXT Tag Titles. Early domination by Alpha. They worked over Dawson’s arm. Eventually they tricked Chad Gable with who the legal man was and took over on offense dominating Gable. Gable eventually hot tagged Jordan and he hit his signature hot tag moments with a great near fall. HOT near falls down the stretch. Alpha hit Grand Amplitude for another great near fall, but Dash put Dawson’s foot in the rope and Alpha sold like they won. Dash pulled Jordan out of the ring and then Dawson rolls up Gable and hooks the tights for the win! My God, these dudes have amazing chemistry!

6. NXT Women’s Champion Asuka over Billie Kay. Billie Kay was out first to no reaction! Can you blame us? Asuka out next to a HUGE reaction! Slow match, which is not what I’d expect from Asuka. Billie Kay dominated most of the match. Asuka held in an ankle lock before she Kay made it to the rope. Asuka finished it off with the Asuka lock

Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Bobby Roode and Samoa Joe never started. Joe and Roode were out first to great ovations. Louisville loves who they love, heel or face! They jumped Nakamura during Finn’s entrance. There was a brawl in the ring and The Revival came out to help beat down Finn and Nakamura. American Alpha came out to make the save, at which point Alexa Bliss came out and talk down to Finn and then slapped him. Out came Bayley to even it up.

7. Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bayley and American Alpha beat Samoa Joe, Bobby Roode, The Revival, and Alexa Bliss. The heels dominated most of the match and then the hot tag was made to Shinsuke and all hell broke lose. All of the faces hit their finishers and Bayley hit Bobby Roode with the Bayley to Belly which led to Shinsuke hitting the KINSHASA! So great to yell live! Thanks to Corey Graves for that (haha).

After the match Finn got on the mic and asked “if someone left a door open? It feels like there’s a draft in here.” He added that he had no idea what was happening, but everyone that performed on the show tonight would be at WrestleMania.

All in all, it was a great night of action. I totally recommend seeing NXT if it’s in your area!

  1. I was also there. The opener was pretty fun. Hugo got some heel heat by taunting a guy in the crowd on the mic about the guy’s girlfriend. After Jose won, he celebrated and went over to the two people in question.

MOTN was the tag title match by far. It was a such a fun experience (also my first house show).
