Powell’s POV: We’ve been talking for some time in the Dot Net Weekly audio show about Turner’s Upfront presentation in May being something to pay close attention to as far as AEW is concerned. The story states that conversations regarding the deal are “pretty complex” and “not imminent” and while the upfronts would be ideal, nothing it definite. Turner has been pegged as a possible destination for AEW for some time, but an executive shakeup within the company created some uncertainty. I can also add that Showtime has also been mentioned by people within industry as a potential rival suitor for AEW programming.
