Tuesday’s WWE Smackdown Live averaged 1.983 million viewers for USA Network, according to Showbuzzdaily.com. The number was up from the 1.827 million count from last Tuesday’s edition.

Powell’s POV: The number was up, but the fact that the show remained below two million viewers despite not facing NBA playoff competition is alarming. Smackdown finished second in the 18-49 demographic behind the NHL playoff game, which delivered 1.807 million overall viewers for NBC Sports Network. The May 22, 2018 edition of Smackdown delivered 2.195 million viewers.

Sorry I have to correct you Jason, but there was a Raptors/Bucks game 4 on last night. Technically, the game didn’t start til 7:30pm CST, so Smackdown was unopposed for 30 minutes. I can understand if you missed it since neither team stands a chance against the Warriors in the Finals.

    • Sorry, I’m not an NBA guy. Where did the game air? It didn’t show up in the cable or network ratings. Showbuzz even wrote: The absence of an NBA game placed NBC Sports Net’s NHL PLAYOFFS game at the top of Tuesday cable at 0.62.

Last time I checked, Bucks and Raptors are part of the NBA. That is a huge miss by the editor of this site in my book.

    • I find the NBA boring, so I couldn’t care less if he missed it. I wouldn’t classify a wrestling site, who’s editor admitted to not being an NBA guy, a “huge miss” either. Just saying.

Well, he does “hits” and “misses” all the time during his reviews so I was attempting to make a joke, but I forget that people don’t like jokes anymore and everyone is serious.
