WWE wrestler Goldust to discuss his battle with chemical dependancy

By Jason Powell, Prowrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet)

The following press release was issued to Prowrestling.net to promote Goldust’s appearance on Wednesday’s Sports Guys Talking Wrestling on KTXX-FM 104.9 “The Horn”.

Austin, August 7, 2018 – Central Texas’ only pro wrestling radio show, Sports Guys Talking Wrestling, will air a special broadcast on Wednesday, August 8, 2018. Show host Stew Myrick sits down with WWE superstar Goldust, aka Dustin Rhodes, to discuss his battle with chemical dependency. In the interview, Goldust talks about how he became addicted to alcohol and drugs, including painkillers, and how that addiction nearly destroyed the success he built in his wrestling career, and even his life. He also tells how he has battled from the depths of that addiction to rejuvenate his career.

The special Sports Guys Talking Wrestling with Goldust will air at 8:00pm CT on KTXX-FM 104.9 “The Horn” in the Austin metro area. The broadcast will also be streamed via the station’s website at www.hornfm.com and the Horn Austin app for smartphones.

Powell’s POV: It’s great that Dustin doesn’t hide from his past and is willing to share his story, as it could serve as a cautionary tale for others. He is currently sidelined from WWE after undergoing surgery on both knees last month.
