NXT Hits
Bobby Roode vs. Tye Dillinger vs. Roderick Strong vs. Andrade Almas: This was a seriously strong main event, which really felt important thanks to the qualifying matches that preceded it, and improved further due to the drama of the elimination stipulation. Maybe Almas could have been highlighted more, and Strong is off to a very understated (borderline forgettable) start to his NXT career, but their eliminations allowed Dillinger and Roode to have a killer finish. Roode represents a logical first title defense post-Samoa Joe for Nakamura. This match easily made the bulk of this show a Hit.
NXT Misses
Billie Kay vs. Daria Berenato: Daria did not do well here. She has a good look and some raw potential, but she is nowhere near TV ready. And saving her would have made this loss avoidable, as it is a character that should be built on a win streak, and now the mystique has already gone.
Authors of Pain: The Dusty Classic win has not heralded a change in quality for the Authors of Pain. The ugly, dangerous ending to the match shows they are still short in the ring, and Ellering has yet to cut a good promo since joining NXT.
