1. Rich Swann beat Tino Sabbatelli. The crowd was very into Swann, who hit Rolling Thunder for the win.
2. Peyton Royce pinned Daria Berenato. Peyton won after a knee to Daria’s head and then a Pefectplex ala Curt Hennig.
3. Hideo Itami pinned Austin Aries. Aries infuriated the crowd by wrestling the entire match with Green Bay Packers-colored Zubaz on. Aries tried to hit Go To Sleep on Itami but Hideo yanked said Zubaz down to Aries’ ankles, hit Go To Sleep and pinned him to the crowd’s delight. Aries tried to blindside Itami after the match but tripped over his Zubaz which were still around Aries’ ankles. Great fun. SKOL Vikings!!!
4. Bobby Roode beat Tye Dillinger. The crowd loved Tye. Roode yanked off one of the turnbuckle pads and while the ref was distracted by that, Roode hit a low blow and downed Dillinger with a Glorious Drop DDT for the win. Roode attacked Tye after the match only to be hit with the Tye Breaker. Very good match.
Intermission
The Revival came out before their NXT tag team title defense against TM-61 and claimed that Scott Dawson was injured. Shane Thorne then challenged Dash Wilder to a singles match which, after much hesitation by the champs, was accepted.
5. Shane Thorne pinned Dash Wilder. Dawson tried to interfere with a crutch but Nick Miller countered that. Thorne used a huracanrana cradle to pin Wilder.
6. Asuka beat Ember Moon by submission to retain the NXT Women’s Championship. Ember was very impressive. She tried to hit her diving cutter but ran into a high knee from Asuka. Asuka immediately put Moon in the Asuka Lock to which she tapped out. Both women hugged in respect. Damn good match.
7. NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and No Way Jose beat Samoa Joe and Riddick Moss. Moss is apparently a former Golden Gopher from Minneapolis. He turned the crowd against him by disowning Minnesota. The crowd couldn’t have cared less about him. Jose took Joe outside the ring leaving Nakamura to blast Moss with two Kinshasa knee strikes for the win.
Powell’s POV: I attended the show and will share my thoughts in Monday’s All Access Daily Podcast.
