AEW Dynamite/Collision results (9/17): Powell’s September to Remember live review with the Hangman Page and Kyle Fletcher contract signing for All Out, Bobby Lashley vs. Toa Liona

By Jason Powell, ProWrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet)

AEW Dynamite/Collision “September to Remember” (Dynamite episode 311, Collision episode 111)
September 17, 2025, in London, Ontario, at Canada Life Place

Simulcast live on TBS and HBO Max

[Hour One] The Dynamite theme song for a special September to Remember opening. Pyro shot off on the stage while Excalibur checked in on commentary, and was joined by Taz and Bryan Danielson…

Tony Schiavone stood in the ring with a table and a couple of chairs for the contract signing. Schiavone introduced AEW World Champion Hangman Page, and then his challenger, Kyle Fletcher, who was accompanied by Don Callis. The wrestlers took their seats at the table while Schiavone and Callis stood.

Callis said he remembered Page taking the title from him when he beat Kenny Omega years ago (2021 Full Gear). Callis sang the praises of Fletcher and told Page the belt was coming to the Callis Family. Page told Fletcher he wants him to wrestle this match without outside interference because he sees the potential in him. Page said Fletcher may someday be looked at to carry the company, but he needs to earn it.

Page said that the contract includes a stipulation that if Callis or any member of his family interferes in the AEW World Championship match at All Out, Fletcher will be disqualified and stripped of the TNT Championship. Callis wasn’t happy.

Fletcher was surprised, but he said he wasn’t concerned because he’s better than Page. Fletcher said AEW doesn’t need Page or Omega, it needs him. Fletcher said he would do Page a favor by allowing him to ride off into the sunset. Fletcher said the entire company belongs to him now. Fletcher signed the contract.

Page said he’s been where Fletcher is. He said Fletcher will be crushed the day after All Out. Page said what Fletcher does with that feeling will define him in the days and years that follow. “Do not disappoint me,” Page said before signing the contract.

Schiavone tried to wrap up the segment, but Fletcher said he had one more thing to say. Fletcher stood up, and so did Page. Fletcher said he’s a man of his word in that there was no physicality at the contract signing, and no one will interfere at All Out. Fletcher said he would leave with the AEW World Championship on Saturday. Fletcher got in Page’s face and told him that tonight he would leave Page bloody and unable to walk on his own…

Powell’s POV: A very good contract signing segment that closed with a nice hook for the remainder of the show. My guard is still up for outside interference on Saturday because Page said the stipulation didn’t allow outside interference from the Callis family. For instance, Chris Jericho isn’t a member of the Callis Family, and obviously that’s just one example of someone who could interfere. I’m filling in one more time for Jake Barnett, who will be back for coverage this weekend and for next week’s Dynamite.

The broadcast team was shown while Excalibur hyped All Out and its availability on HBO Max…

A video package on the Darby Allin vs. Jon Moxley coffin match aired… Jon Moxley made his entrance through the crowd with Marina Shafir and Daniel Garcia, and then Roderick Strong entered via the stage…

1. Jon Moxley (w/Marina Shafir, Daniel Garcia) vs. Roderick Strong (w/Kyle O’Reilly). Strong got off to a quick start. Moxley and Strong traded chops. At ringside, Strong went face-to-face with Shafir while Garcia and O’Reilly jawed at one another. Moxley hit Garcia with a shot to the throat and then dumped over the barricade heading into a picture-in-picture break. [C]

Late in the match, Wheeler Yuta ran out and tripped Strong while the referee was distracted. Moxley performed a Paradigm Shift and then put Strong in the Bulldog Choke for the win. At ringside, Garcia had O’Reilly down against the barricade and flipped him off…

Jon Moxley defeated Roderick Strong in 12:50.

Powell’s POV: Well, the idea was that Yuta tripped Strong. Their timing was off. Strong bounced off the ropes and started to fall before Yuta got close enough to touch him. As good as Strong and O’Reilly are in the ring, it feels like a questionable television ratings move to keep booking them in long television matches.

A video package aired on the MJF and Mark Briscoe feud heading into their Tables N’ Tacks match at All Out…

Footage aired from after AEW Collision of MJF entering Tony Khan’s office. MJF said Khan screwed him by taking away his right to exercise his Casino Gauntlet contract at any time. MJF said he wanted out of the match with Briscoe. Khan raised his voice while telling MJF he owes him nothing. MJF congratulated him for putting his big boy pants on for a change. MJF said it’s on Khan if another Briscoe ends up in the dirt…

Excalibur hyped Bobby Lashley vs. Toa Liona for after the break… [C]

2. Bobby Lashley (w/Shelton Benjamin, MVP) vs. Toa Liona (w/Ricochet, Bishop Kaun). Both entrances were televised. Lashley and Kaun fought on the apron. Lashley went for a suplex, but Liona drilled him with a headbutt. Liona performed a cool Samoan Drop while jumping off the apron, heading into a PIP break. [C]

Lashley charged for a spear, causing Liona to duck to ringside, which was booed by the fans. Lashley went to the floor and hit Liona with a running spear. Ricochet got in Lashley’s face. MVP punched Ricochet and tossed him into the barricade. Back in the ring, Lashley turned his attention to Kaun on the apron. Benjamin took care of Kaun, but Liona used the distraction to hit a shoulder block that led to a near fall.

Lashley came right back with the Hurt Lock. Liona used his foot to push off the ropes, but Lashley maintained the hold. The referee checked on Liona and then called for the bell.

Bobby Lashley defeated Toa Liona in 10:00.

After the match, Benjamin and MVP knocked Ricochet and Kaun off the apron to the floor. The Hurt Syndicate trio stood tall while some fans sang “We Hurt People”…

Powell’s POV: This was the match that grabbed my attention when the lineup for this show was announced, and it turned out to be a good big man battle. I could have done without The Hurt Syndicate being so dominant overall, but perhaps Ricochet and Gates of Agony will steal a win in the trios match at All Out.

Excalibur hyped the FTR meeting with Adam Cole and Christian Cage for after a break… [C]

Tony Schiavone stood in the ring and introduced Adam Copeland, who came out and ran to both sides of the stage before heading to the ring. The fans sang Copeland’s song after it stopped playing. Christian Cage made his entrance and joined Copeland in the ring. Schiavone introduced “FTR” Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, along with Stokely Hathaway. Roughly a dozen security guards came out, and then FTR and Hathaway followed.

[Hour Two] Hathaway took the mic from Schiavone and said Copeland and Christian would be fined $100,000 if they touch Harwood or Wheeler, and $500,000 if they touch him. Hathaway said he would also make sure the match was cancelled and they wouldn’t be able to compete in their hometown.

Wheeler said Copeland came to AEW and claimed he wanted to help FTR, but he just wanted them to be his supporting cast and make them do all the work. Harwood said there was a time when Copeland and Christian were the best team in the world, but it’s only because two other teams carried them to relevance. Harwood boasted about the teams FTR has beaten and that they’ve won ten world championships over seven brands. Harwood said it would be a dream match for Copeland and Christian.

Copeland took the mic from Harwood and told him to shut up. Copeland said there’s a reason Hathaway doesn’t get hoes, and warned him that he better keep his wife’s name out of his mouth or she would slap the lips off his face. Copeland said the reason FTR wasn’t in the spotlight is that the fans didn’t want them in there.

Copeland conceded that FTR are in the conversation for being one of the greatest tag teams of all time. “Well, welcome to the club, we’ve been here for 25 years,” Copeland said. He added that he and Christian made tag team wrestling important again, and created a match that became a pay-per-view. Copeland said FTR would understand why there’s only one Cope and Cage.

Christian pulled the mic toward him and said, “Cage and Cope.” Nice. Copeland said FTR will understand why he and Christian are better than they are. Christian took the mic and conceded that $100,000 is a lot of money. He said Hathaway might actually be able to get himself some hoes if he had $500,000.

Christian said the money doesn’t mean a damn thing to him because he’s rich. Christian hit Harwood with the microphone, and then Copeland fought with Wheeler. Security ran in and were destroyed by Copeland and Christian while FTR watched. Copeland and Christian went after FTR again, and they fled the ring. Harwood had a bloody nose…

Powell’s POV: A strong segment carried by Copeland’s fiery mic work. The segment was effective in terms of making their All Out match feel like a showdown between two all-time great tag teams.

Footage aired from earlier in the day of Renee Paquette talking backstage when she approached “The Young Bucks” Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson. Nick said they were back after winning $500,000. Matt said they would win the tag team titles. Nick said they’ve been rude to Paquette. He gave her $10,000, then told her that it was real American money. Paqeutte took the money and was giddy…

The Young Bucks made their entrance and had pyro along with a proper name graphic. Footage aired of Matt losing some money in a slot machine. For some weird reason, they left the prize money bag in their corner of the ring. Austin Gunn and Juice Robinson made their entrance…

3. “The Young Bucks” Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson vs. Austin Gunn and Juice Robinson in a qualifier for the four-way ladder match for the AEW Tag Team Titles at All Out. The Bucks got the better of Robinson and struck their pose until he hit them with a double clothesline. The Bucks regained offensive control before a PIP break. [C]

Nick got some cash and tried to give it to referee Rick Knox, who declined by hitting his hand, which sent the money flying. Later, a “this is awesome” chant broke out. The Bucks went for a BTE Trigger on Robinson, but he ducked, causing the Jacksons to slam their knees together.

Gunn caught Nick diving off the top rope and put him down with a Flatliner. Robinson picked up a nice near fall on Matt. Robinson performed a huracanrana off the ropes, but Matt rolled him over into a pin. Austin reversed the pin for a two count, then Nick did the same for another two count. The Bucks hit the TK Driver on Robinson, and then Matt got the pin.

“The Young Bucks” Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson defeated Austin Gunn and Juice Robinson in 11:40 to qualify for the four-way ladder match for the AEW Tag Team Titles at All Out.

The Bucks celebrated heading into a break… [C]

Powell’s POV: A good tag team match. They tried to create some drama, but it felt pretty obvious that the Bucks would win. No complaints. The right team went over.

A video package focused on the eight-woman tag “tailgate brawl” that will be held on the All Out pre-show…

4. The Beast Mortos vs. Mascara Dorada for a spot in the three-way for the AEW Unified Championship match at All Out. Both entrances were televised. Mortos sent Dorada to the floor with a shoulder block. Mortos performed a corkscrew dive through the ropes before a PIP break. [C]

Dorada hit a Destroyer on the apron. Dorada followed up with a dive over the top rope onto Mortos on the floor. Mortos came back with a cook backbreaker, but Dorada hit him with another Destroyer. Mortos sold for a second and then put Dorado down and got a near fall. Dorada hit a crucifix bomb. Mortos caught him on the ropes with a chop.

There was a botched spot as Dorada tried to jump from the shoulders of Mortos onto the ropes, but he didn’t pull it off, and then he performed a clunky-looking Destroyer. Moments later, Dorada performed a huracanrana from the ropes, which led to a one count. Dorada put Mortos down, hit a shooting star press, and got the three count…

Mascara Dorada defeated The Beast Mortos in 10:05 to earn a spot in the three-way for the AEW Unified Championship at All Out.

After the match, AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada and Don Callis walked to ringside. Konosuke Takeshita, the other man in the three-way, made a separate entrance and went face-to-face with Okada. Callis tried to play peacemaker. Doradao performed a springboard dive onto Okada. Dorada and Takeshita went face-to-face. Takeshita nodded and smiled…

Excalibur said Toni Storm would speak after the break… [C]

Powell’s POV: There were some impressive spots, one really bad sequence, and very little psychology. Dorada is the unwanted third man in the match that most fans wish was Okada vs. Takeshita. I’m fine with the three-way as long as they eventually deliver the Okada vs. Takeshita showdown match.

AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm was introduced for a promo from the stage. She stood under a spotlight and said she has lived each day as if it’s her last ever since she regained her title. Storm said that if you’re not ready to put your life on the line every time you get in an AEW ring, “then, darling, you ain’t shit.” Storm played up the possibility that the four-way at All Out would be the end of her reign.

Jamie Hayter entered the shot and pulled the mic toward her. Hayter said it had been a long time since it was just the two of them, and it seems as if Storm has forgotten some things. Hayter said she hadn’t forgotten. She said Storm invited her to be in the match. Hayter also said she hits hard. Kris Statlander entered the shot and pulled the mic toward her and capped off some brief mic work by saying, “You can’t stop Stat.”

Thekla made her entrance. A few referees held Storm back, and then Thekla headed to the ring for her match. Queen Aminata came out…

5. Thekla vs. Queen Aminata in a No Holds Barred match. Chairs, a trash can, and a kendo stick were tossed in the ring. Thekla tossed a kendo stick out of the ring. The fans cheered, but it wasn’t clear what happened. The wrestlers fought into the crowd before a PIP break. [C]

[Hour Three] Aminata caught Thekla with a headbutt and covered her for a two count. Excalibur told fans to stay with the show because they would see the conclusion of the match in just moments. A minute after the top of the hour, the screen went black for a second or two to signify the end of Dynamite and the start of Collision.

Aminata performed a fisherman’s buster onto a chair and got another near fall. A “this is awesome” chant broke out. Thekla avoided a leg drop and then stomped Aminata’s face onto the chairs. Thekla covered Aminata and got the three count…

Thekla defeated Queen Aminata in 10:35 in a No Holds Barred match.

Thekla stood in the ring with a mic and said Toni Storm could stop looking because “your end is right here.” Storm ran out, tackled Thekla, and worked her over with a barrage of punches. Jamie Hayter ran out and climbed on the apron, but Kris Statlander hopped the ringside barricade and pulled her down.

Julia Hart and Skye Blue ran out and attacked Storm. Wheeler Yuta showed up and tried to talk to Statlander, but Marina Shafir cut him off. Storm fought back and cleared Hart and Blue from the ring. Storm grabbed a chair and wound up, but Hart and Blue pulled Thekla to the floor.

Hayter entered the ring behind Storm. Hayter wound up, but Storm turned around, and Hayter didn’t follow through with her cheap shot. Storm got in Hayter’s face, and they had to be pulled apart by a few referees….

Powell’s POV: Really hard work from Thekla and Aminata, and the post-match angle did a nice job of revving things up heading into the four-way for the AEW Women’s Championship at All Out.

Alicia Atout interviewed Dante Martin, Darius Martin, Scorpio Sky, and Christopher Daniels outside the venue. Atout asked the Martins about their upcoming tag match. “I don’t know if you’ve been paying attention, but ever since we joined Sky Flight, we’ve been on a bit of a roll,” Darius said (um, no, I didn’t notice). Hangman Page showed up and warned the Martins that while the Callis Family won’t be interfering in his AEW World Championship match at All Out, they shouldn’t expect that courtesy during their match…

6. Killswitch and Kip Sabian (w/Mother Wayne) vs. Kevin Knight and Mike Bailey in a qualifier for the four-way ladder match for the AEW Tag Team Titles at All Out. Both entrances were televised. Mother Wayne grabbed Bailey’s foot while he was running the ropes, but he still hit Killswitch with three kicks. Bailey ran toward the other side of the ring, where Sabian held the top rope down, causing Bailey to tumble to the floor. Sabian hit Bailey with an Arabian Press before a PIP break. [C]

Late in the match, Killswitch cut off a run of offense by the babyfaces by headbutting Bailey, and then he followed up with a chokeslam. Sabian demanded to be tagged in. Sabian slapped Killswitch, which the referee counted as a tag. Bailey rolled up Sabian for a two count. Sabian returned the favor and used the ropes for leverage, but Killswitch shoved his own partner’s foot off the ropes.

Killswitch called for a tag. Sabian dove for the tag, but Killswitch dropped off the apron. Knight hit a clothesline on Sabian from the top rope, and then Bailey followed up with a big kick that led to the three count…

Kevin Knight and Mike Bailey defeated Killswitch and Kip Sabian in 12:05 to qualify for the four-way ladder match for the AEW Tag Team Titles at All Out.

Powell’s POV: I’m surprised they already had Killswitch stand up to Sabian. I wonder if Nick Wayne will come back with something that forces Killswitch to stick with the group.

Big Bill stood in a backstage area with Bryan Keith. Bill said the graphic says he’s facing Eddie Kingston at All Out, but he won’t believe it until he sees Kingston. Bill said he wouldn’t blame Kingston if he didn’t want to travel to Canada because it’s an embarrassment of a country. Bill said that if Kingston shows up, he will expose him as a fraud. Keith yelled fraud… [C]

Bryan Danielson’s interview with Darby Allin aired. Danielson asked Allin why he climbed Mount Everest. Footage of the climb aired while Allin spoke. He said he felt like he was living his life for someone else. He said he wanted to remind himself of what he was capable of. He said there are a lot of snakes, liars, and polickers in wrestling, but you can’t politic your way to the top of Mount Everest. He held up the AEW flag and said he flew it at the top of the world.

Danielson asked Allin if he was ready for the coffin match. Allin said he didn’t know. Allin told Bryan not to get involved, no matter what happens. Allin beat himself up over what happened to Danielson at WrestleDream. Danielson said it’s not his fault. Allin said Danielson’s career is over. Danielson said his word means as much to him as it does to Allin, and he gave his word that he wouldn’t get involved. Danielson said Allin had to promise him one thing. Danielson whispered to Allin, who shook his hand and told Danielson he had his word…

At ringside, Excalibur asked Danielson what he told Allin. Danielson said it was between him and Allin…

Powell’s POV: Well, Bryan, then maybe you should have had that conversation off the air! Kidding. This was an interesting little storyline hook for the coffin match. It was nice to see AEW finally play up Allin climbing Mount Everest. I

TBS Champion Mercedes Mone made her entrance. Riho’s entrance followed while her opponent was already in the ring…

7. Riho vs. Robyn Renegade. Renegade’s entrance was not televised. Mone sat at in on commentary, and they had all of her title belts on a table in front of her. Riho hit a top rope crossbody block on Renegade, who was on the floor. Riho approached Mone, who said she’d never get her title and then told her to get back in the ring. [C] In the end, Riho hit a crucifix bomb and got the three count…

Riho defeated Robyn Renegade in 4:55.

After the match, Mone stood up and applauded. Renegade grabbed Riho’s legs while down on the mat. Mone entered the ring and put Riho down with a Backstabber while Renegade rolled out of the ring…

Powell’s POV: A quick showcase match for Riho, and a post-match angle that put a little heat on Mone. This was fine, but I can’t say that it really increased my enthusiasm for the TBS Title match at All Out.

Highlights aired from Collision of Jerry Lynn trying to get Max Caster and Anthony Bowens back on the same page… [C]

A video package aired with Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, and Daniel Garcia talking while Marina Shafir stood by. Garcia said Katsuyorhi Shibata never cared about AEW. Garcia challenged Shibata to a match. They cut to “The Opps” Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Shibata. Joe accepted the challenge on behalf of Shibata…

Excalibur announced Daniel Garcia vs. Katsuyori Shibata for the All Out pre-show. A graphic listed it as Garcia vs. Shibata 3…

Don Callis came out and told the crowd to shut up. Callis introduced his team, and then their opponents made their entrance…

8. Josh Alexander and Hechicero (w/Don Callis) vs. “Top Flight” Dante Martin and Darius Martin (w/Christopher Daniels) in a qualifier for the four-way ladder match for the AEW Tag Team Titles at All Out. Top Flight cleared both opponents from the ring. They teased stereo dives, but then slid over Alexander and Hechicero after they ducked by the apron. The heels came back and had offensive control going into a PIP break. [C]

Excalibur added Samoa Joe and Powerhouse Hobbs vs. “The Workhorsemen” JD Drake and Anthony Green to the All Out pre-show lineup.

Late in the match, Darius went for a suicide dive, but Alexander caught him with an elbow. The broadcast team played up Darius being knocked out. Dante went up top, but Alexander shoved him down while Hechicero distracted the referee. Hechicero used a head scissors to spike Dante’s head on the mat before pinning him.

Josh Alexander and Hechicero defeated “Top Flight” Dante Martin and Darius Martin in 10:45 to qualify for the four-way ladder match for the AEW Tag Team Titles at All Out.

[Overrun] After the match, Lance Archer and Rocky Romero joined Alexander and Hechicero in surrounding Daniels. Scorpio Sky, Mike Bailey, and Kevin Knight ran out to help Daniels. The Young Bucks came out to help the heels. AEW Tag Team Champions Brody King and Bandido ran out to help the babyfaces and cleared the ring. Bandido hit a moonsault off the top rope onto a pile of wrestlers on the floor. Archer kicked Daniels and then tossed him inside the ring. Romero worked over Daniels and handed him off to Archer for a chokeslam.

Hangman Page made his entrance and cleared Archer and Romero from the ring while the other teams apparently disappeared. Kyle Fletcher entered the ring with his TNT Title belt, but Page caught him. Romero grabbed Page’s legs, giving Fletcher an opening. Fletcher attacked Page and worked him over with punches.

Fletcher set up Page for a brainbuster on the apron, but Page slipped out of it and clotheslined him. Page fought off Archer and Romero before going for a Buckshot Lariat, but Fletcher hit him with one of the title belts. Fletcher hoisted up Page on the apron and then gave him a brainbuster through a table that had been set up on the floor. Fletcher returned to the ring and grabbed his belt and the AEW World Championship. Fletcher stood in the middle of the ring and held up both belts. Fletcher went to the apron and held up the belts again while Page was down on the floor to end the show…

Powell’s POV: I liked the hook that Fletcher gave earlier in the show, but I almost forgot about it by the time he finally came out to make good on it. In other words, they could have done a little more throughout the show to keep that fresh in the minds of viewers. That said, this all worked in terms of getting me more excited about the AEW World Championship match at All Out.

Overall, this was a strong go-home show with really good final hype for several pay-per-view matches. The longer promo segments really delivered. I will have more to say when I host our same-night audio review of September to Remember, which will be available later tonight exclusively for Dot Net Members (including our Patreon patrons). 1. I missed this show but am looking forward to an AEW PPV more than I have in a while. Hopefully the Garbage match with Briscoe and MJF won’t go too long. Really looking forward to C&C vs. FTR.

  2. Tony Khan with the Vince Russo impression!

  3. One of the best ‘set-up for a PPV’ shows I’ve seen in awhile.
    Toni Storm remains gold.

Love that MJF is still reminding me of the old school heels. Glad Tony isn’t being the ‘woke OMG IM OFFENDED’ type owner and letting MJF be MJF.
