Jay Lethal was featured in a Tampa Bay Times story written by Paul Guzzo and spoke about defending the ROH Championship at the G1 Supercard. “Every wrestler from my generation thought that the only way to work in Madison Square Garden was to work for the WWE or fill out an application to work security,” Lethal said. “I get to go there without doing either of those two things.”
Lethal also stated that his career is like winning the lottery in that everything seems to go right. “I couldn’t write my story any better,” he said. “We are wrestling a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden and I am champion. A few years ago, I would have said this is impossible. But it is a reality.” Read the full story at TampaBay.com.
Powell’s POV: Lethal will defend the ROH Championship against Marty Scurll and Matt Taven in a three-way ladder match at the April 6 event. Lethal told a fun story of how he won a contest to receive his pro wrestling training, and also spoke about his Black Machismo days and his Ric Flair and Randy Savage impersonations. Yours truly is also quoted in the story.
