Impact Wrestling executive Don Callis answered questions from the pro wrestling media via conference call on Wednesday. Callis spoke in-character about his angle with Sami Callihan, explained whether he’s becoming an on-air authority figure, looked back at the Redemption show, whether the company is interested in working with former WWE wrestler Enzo Amore, Rich Swann’s status with the company, and more (62:08)…

Callis completely addressed the typical themes the critics use so liberally. This is a company in total transition, playing to an audience that has been hypnotized into believing every company is listed on the stock exchange and has been around for 50 years.
Anyone that actually takes the time to listen to this ‘State of Impact’ address should find Don Callis to be a student of the game, both in ring and business end. This is the first time (including the Jarrett era) where the operators of the company can give lucid and legitimate answers to why they are doing the things they do and their plans to grow.
The WWE loyalists that cloud the message boards with their BS might discover the enthusiasm and hope for a better wrestling product lies in Impact rather than WWE, where they’re pandering to advertisers.
