Brock Lesnar teased by Sylvester Stallone in hype for “Creed” sequel

WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar was used by Sylvester Stallone in online hype for the forthcoming Creed sequel. Stallone included an image of himself and Lesnar fighting on his Instagram Page. Stallone teased a major announcement regarding the film, which apparently turned out to be that Stephen Caples, Jr. will direct the sequel.

Powell’s POV: The Creed film stemmed from Stallone’s Rocky series with Stallone reprising the Rocky Balboa role and Michael B. Jordan playing the part of Adonis Creed, son of the Apollo Creed character. Stallone previously stated that the sequel will be shot in 2018. It’s unclear if Stallone’s use of Lesnar is teasing his actual involvement or if Stallone was just trying to get a rise out his Instagram followers. There’s already fan speculation that Lesnar could play the role of Ivan Drago’s son, but nothing is official. The first Creed film was terrific and it would cool to see Lesnar play a role in the sequel. Of course, Hulk Hogan played the role of Thunderlips in Rocky III. I always though Lesnar would be a great live action version of the Incredible Hulk similar to the way Lou Ferrigno played the role in the old television series. However, a combination of CGI taking over and the idea of Lesnar doing long hours in a makeup trailer pretty much killed my Hollywood fantasy booking idea.
