Bayley spoke with Brian Fritz of Sporting News and spoke about spending an extra year in NXT after her peers were called up to the main roster. “”If I were to have debuted as the same day as Sasha, Charlotte and Becky, I wouldn’t have grown as much as I did,” Bayley said. “Being with NXT for that extra year really put the pressure on me having to be the champion and leading the division. We were going to all these places for the first time. So, to be at the forefront of all that was really important to me.
“Also, just working with all the younger girls and the newer girls, girls that were just starting up, girls that were just trying to get comfortable on shows and working with people like Asuka and Nia Jax. Those are two different competitors that I would have never had the opportunity to work with had I gone up the same time as them.”
Bayley also admitted she gets nervous while watching Sasha Banks and Charlotte. “I always get nervous watching any of the women, especially those two because they take crazy risks,” she said. “When I saw Charlotte go up to the top rope and do her corkscrew thing, my heart dropped. I get really nervous and sweaty and jittery when I watch them.” Read the full interview at SportingNews.com.
Powell’s POV: Bayley also spoke about what she has told Sasha after watching those matches with Charlotte, advice that Triple H gave her, and her excitement over being in the WWE video game.
