Shane McMahon announced that Chad Gable is off the Backlash show due to the “injury” he suffered at the hands of Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso on Smackdown. Shane claimed that Gable suffered an MCL injury that won’t require surgery, but will sideline him for two to four weeks.
Shane and Daniel Bryan agreed that the Usos will face The Hype Bros at Backlash, and the winners will then face Heath Slater and Rhyno later in the night in the finals of the tag tournament.
Powell’s POV: In a hilarious moment, Renee Young asked Daniel Bryan and Shane if this scenario was fair. Bryan said no because the Usos were responsible for the injury. This really doesn’t make any sense for that very reason, especially when Shane and Bryan are babyface authority figures. Nevertheless, I like that they pulled the trigger on the Usos heel turn and I have them as the new favorites to win the tournament.
