TNA play-by-play voice Josh Mathews wrote his second weekly blog for the TNA website and addressed the unconventional Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy series of vides that aired on last week’s Impact Wrestling television show. “Before we get into what will happen tonight or look at Slammiversary, I want to address the conclusion to Impact last week in Cameron, NC between Matt and Jeff Hardy,” Mathews wrote. “It was different and you got to see inside the home life of both Matt and Jeff. Was it campy? Yes! So is wrestling in general. I loved it. It also got BUZZ which is good.” Read the full blog at ImpactWrestling.com.
Powell’s POV: Mathews also wrote about Sunday’s TNA Slammiversary event and he wrote about a wrestler he believes can become a World Champion. Perhaps Mathews meant the TNA Champion, but I can only imagine that he is hearing from all sorts of readers who are informing him that the person he picked has already been a “World Champion” in another promotion. As for the Hardy angle, I still believe there are a lot of people reacting to the video who haven’t been following the actual storyline. I wrote that the Broken Matt character is the type of character that would embarrass you if a non-wrestling fan walked into the room while he was on television, but the video segments last week were true to the storyline and even seemed to be inspired by Lucha Underground.
