AEW Dynamite viewership soars, tops NXT

By Jason Powell, ProWrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet)

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite television show delivered 901,000 viewers for Wednesday’s episode on TNT, according to Showbuzzdaily.com. The viewership count was up from the 773,000 viewers who watched last week’s episode.

Powell’s POV: AEW won the night over NXT, which finished with 753,000 viewers. Dynamite finished fifth in the 18-49 demographic last night, while NXT finished 27th in the same category.

Is that the highest combined viewership this year?

  2. Seems like the combined viewership is more or less equal to what RAW can draw now. I won’t be surprised to see the Wednesday night shows start to outdraw RAW if things don’t improve.

    • From my Twitter page: The #AEW and #NXT combined viewership of 1.654 million is the best combo total since February 19. Very strong total considering the MLB, NBA, and NHL competition. Monday’s Raw finished with 1.715 million viewers.

Vince can’t go away soon enough. With that said, this Wednesday was the first time in a while I’ve thought both shows were at least C quality.

NXT was solid from start to finish and that second hour of AEW (throw in the Cody/Sammy confrontation at the end of hour 1) was the best stuff they’ve put on in ages.
