-Saturday’s New Japan Pro Wrestling G1 Opening Night received a majority vote of A in our post show poll with 58 percent of the vote. B came in second with 39 percent. I gave the show a B+ grade in my members’ exclusive audio review.
-Dot Net voters gave the NJPW G1 Opening Night best match honors to Kazuchika Okada vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi with 30 percent of the vote. Will Ospreay vs. Lance Archer finished second and trailed by just a single vote. Both matches were terrific and I give the slight edge to Ospreay vs. Archer, perhaps in part because it far exceeded my expectations.
-Sunday’s Impact Wrestling Slammiversary received a majority vote of A in our post show poll with 55 percent of the vote. B finished second with 32 percent of the vote. I gave the show a B+ grade in my members’ exclusive audio review. Slammiversary and the NJPW event were very different shows and yet I felt they were equally entertaining.
Dot Net voters gave Impact Wrestling Slammiversary best match honors to Brian Cage vs. Michael Elgin for the Impact World Championship with 35 percent of the vote. The Tessa Blanchard vs. Sami Callihan match finished just one vote behind. I gave the nod to Cage vs. Elgin, but I found both matches to be very entertaining.
-Monday’s WWE Raw received an F grade from 48 percent of the voters in our weekly poll. D finished in second place with 31 percent of the vote. Only six percent gave the show a better than average grade. I gave Raw an F grade and thought it failed on nearly ever level.
-Tuesday’s WWE Smackdown received a B grade from 47 percent of the voters in our weekly poll. I gave the show an B+ grade.
