Dot Net reader Sal O’Neill attended the NXT Takeover: Philadelphia event on Sunday and sent the following results of the matches taped beforehand for Wednesday’s television show.
1. Nikki Cross beat Lacey Evans. Cross won with her swinging fisherman’s neckbreaker. Pretty quick match. Cross was very over with the Philly crowd.
2. TM-61 beat the Ealey Brothers. TM-61 won with their Thunder Valley finisher. TM-61 was very very over. Pretty surprising that they got the reaction they did. The Ealey Brothers pulled “twin magic” at one point in the match. I figured this would be a squash, but it was slightly more competitive than that. TM-61 are a very exciting team and hopefully they can be built into something big in the tag division.
3. Roderick Strong beat Tyler Bate to earn a future WWE UK Championship match. Strong won with the End Of Heartache to earn the future match against Pete Dunne. Awesome match. Very hard hitting. Lots of strong strikes and grappling. Roddy was very aggressive throughout the match. Loud dueling chants for both guys throughout the match. Tyler Bate is a star. Dude just exudes it from every pore.
