Kevin Kelly announced that he will no longer call Ring of Honor matches so that he can focus on calling matches for New Japan Pro Wrestling. “To focus on @njpw1972 as well as new opportunities, I will no longer announce for @ringofhonor,” Kelly wrote. “Thanks to all whom made last 7 yrs so fun!”
Powell’s POV: Kelly ended his full-time run with ROH back in February, yet he continued to work pay-per-views and called some television matches. New ROH play-by-play voice Ian Riccaboni has done a good job and was highly complimentary of Kelly in terms of grooming him for the position in an interview I conducted with him in May. ROH is in good hands with Riccaboni. That said, it will be interesting to see if there’s anything more to this move in terms of the relationship between ROH and NJPW.
To focus on @njpw1972 as well as new opportunities, I will no longer announce for @ringofhonor. Thanks to all whom made last 7 yrs so fun!
