Hulk Hogan dead at age 71

By Jason Powell, ProWrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet)

Hulk Hogan (a/k/a Terry Bollea) died on Thursday morning in Clearwater, Florida. TMZ.com reports that paramedics were called to the home with the report of Hogan going into cardiac arrest. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Powell’s POV: Hogan is one of the most iconic figures in pro wrestling history. The Hogan character is also one of the big reasons I became a fan when Hulkamania was born in the AWA promotion, and then became the face of the WWF’s national expansion. My condolences to Hogan’s wife Sky, his children Brooke and Nick, his friends, and many fans.

  1. Do you plan to do a career retrospctive on the Hulkster? I’d love to read that.

While I was never much of a fan, having grown up watching Mid South and JCP, as Bobby heenan once daid, a lot of people in this industry have jobs because of him.

    • No, sorry, but his career and complicated legacy will be a big topic of conversation during the Dot Net Weekly audio show tomorrow.

      • If Hulk Hogan was a “TERRIBLE/HORRIBLE HUMAN BEING RIGHT UP TO THE VERY END”, I can’t imagine what category you put guys like Jeffrey Dahmer in. Take a pill, brother. RIP Hulkster.

You really are a douche bag. All your pc bs. Again approving a post wanting the death of a president proves everything I believe true about you.

        • Thanks for the tantrum, Angry Mike, er, Ben, but TJ isn’t new to this section. I don’t approve of every post. TJ was approved whenever he initially posted in our comment section. Oh, and fuck Cankles, snowflake.

  2. Sad that although he spent DECADES in pro wrestling, and is a BIG reason it’s as big as it is, all over the internet all the self-righteous idiots, as always, mention one particular incident or comment and stay on that.
JUST FYI, virtue signalers, you were watching WWF/WWE when it was owned by Vince, who has NUMEROUS sexual assault allegations, including a rape, and paid all the women off.
Check your own backyard and get off the self-righteous train.
RIP to Hulk, thanks to him for all he did for the business, and prayers out to his family.

    • “one” incident? He spent years being a racist terrible human. The world is better without him. If only his political idol would suffer the same fate. The fact that you are defending his racism and hatred is telling, might want to clean the hood before your next meeting.

What’s interesting is that those who knew him best, including the black wrestlers, disagree with you.

        • Mark Henry agrees with you? Kof, Xavier and Big E too? Strange revisionist history there…

Mark Henry spent a tiny amount of time in the same building, let alone asking if he actually knew the man. The other three didn’t know him other than to say hello.

      • What a piece of shit.Just one of many I’ve seen today.

      • So Powell you can approve a comment for spyke calling for the death of our president but not mine for agreeing with Joseph? What a freaking joke you are. Still butt hurt from my comment about Alexa bliss and the constant pissing and moaning about three hour raws? I used to really dig this site but you make it hard to keep coming here but your the boss so I’ll just head over to bleacher report for their rundowns.

  3. His work in Japan pre 83 was elite. He could go.

  4. It’s a shame that his last wrestling appearance he was booed out of the building.

    • He deserved to be booed, he was a racist and overall a terrible human being and he continued to be a terrible person right up to the very end.

      • Terrible humans don’t grant more Make A Wishes than anybody not named John Cena. You would know that if you weren’t a virtue signaling retard, but here you are.

  5. For whatever he contributed to wrestling, the real Terry Bollea was a horrible human being and is why I didn’t feel sad when I read this news this morning.

  6. I just hope that all of these people spewing this venom never say something offensive or make mistakes because clearly if you do, you should be shunned for the rest of eternity and beyond. For all the comments about how horrible he was there are also a lot of people who have said he was a great person and that he did many generous favors for them. Look at what Flair said or Sting. Should some of the things Hogan has done or said over the years be condemned? Absolutely. It would be silly to say they shouldn’t. But to just generalize and say he was just terrible and undeserving of redemption is pretty judgmental and maybe these people should look themselves in the mirror. Let’s practice a little grace folks. I can’t wait to be fllleted for this.

  7. All of us are assholes to someone else. I didn’t like Hulk Hogan, and some of the things he said and done are reprobable to say the least, but his contributions to this business are huge and this is a pro wrestling site. I don’t really want to know the real person behind some of my favourite artists, sure I would be disappointed

  8. He put Death over, brother
