1. Yuji Nagata, Manabu Nakanishi, and Yota Tsuji beat Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Satoshi Kojima, and Yuya Uemura.

2. Chase Owens, Bad Luck Fale, and Hikuleo defeated Mikey Nicholls, Juice Robinson, and Ren Narita.

3. Davey Boy Smith Jr., Lance Archer, and Taichi defeated Togi Makabe, Toa Henare, and Michael Elgin.

4. Tetsuya Naito, Evil, Bushi, and Shingo Takagi defeated Kota Ibushi, Sho, Yoh, and Shota Umino.

5. Hiroshi Tanahashi and Tomoaki Honma beat Zack Sabre Jr. and Taka Michinoku.

6. Tomohiro Ishii, Will Ospreay, and Hirooki Goto defeated Kazuchika Okada, Yoshi-Hashi, and Ryusuke Taguchi.

7. Colt Cabana defeated Toru Yano in a New Japan Cup tournament second round match.

8. Sanada defeated Minoru Suzuki in a New Japan Cup tournament second round match.

Powell’s POV: The tournament continues on Wednesday in Tokyo with Tomohiro Ishii vs. Yoshi-Hashi and Kazuchika Okada vs. Zack Sabre Jr. in the first quarterfinal matches. The winner of the tournament will challenge Jay White for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship on April 6 at the G1 Supercard in New York at Madison Square Garden.
