Colt Cabana suing CM Punk for $1.2 million

By Jason Powell, Prowrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet)

Colt Cabana (Scott Colton) filed a $1.2 million lawsuit against CM Punk (Phil Brooks) over legal fees stemming from the defamation lawsuit that WWE physician Chris Amann filed against them. The Chicago Tribune reports that Cabana claims in the lawsuit that Punk told him in a text message that his legal fees would be “100% covered”. Cabana alleges that Punk later asked him to pay half of the $513,736 that Cabana accumulated as part of the Amann lawsuit before later writing, “You are on your own.” Read more at Chicago.suntimes.com.

Powell’s POV: It’s worth noting that Cabana and Punk initially had the same legal representation in the Amann trial before Cabana opted to hire a separate attorney. Regardless of who is right and who is wrong, it’s a real shame to see it come to this for the longtime friends. They seemed to be on good terms coming out of the Amann trial, as reporters noted that they shared a hug after the jury ruled in their favor. For that matter, Cabana had nothing negative to say about Punk on his Art of Wrestling Podcast shows that followed the trial.

  1. CM Punk sounds like he really is a punk.

  2. Cabana is on the all in card.. I wonder if Chicago will eat him alive. An another scenario. Pink agrees to appear if they remove him from the show. Punk can make a few wrestling appearances to pay the legal fees for this new lawsuit. Hell companies are already offering him millions..
