Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling are running show on April 6 at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The event is billed as the “G1 Supercard” and the video released by ROH labels it as the two companies going to war at the world’s most famous arena.
Powell’s POV: The event is happening despite ROH COO previously stating that MSG officials had called off the booking. The event will run opposite the NXT Takeover event that will be held the same night in Brooklyn, New York at Barclays Center. It’s a shame that ROH runs its annual WrestleMania weekend event opposite NXT rather than on the Friday night when WWE presents its Hall of Fame event as it forces fans to choose. That said, it’s phenomenal that the show is happening at MSG and it makes the weekend feel bigger than ever.
