Dennis Stamp died on Monday following a battle with cancer, according to several online reports.
Powell’s POV: There is not a birthday listed for Stamp that I have been able to find, but he was believed to be approaching age 70. He was a longtime wrestler who gained notoriety for his part in the Beyond the Mat documentary. Some of the more popular scenes in the film involve Stamp, his trampoline, and his disappointment over not being booked for Terry Funk’s retirement show. My condolences to his family and friends.
He finally got that booking in heaven.
Here’s hoping his trampoline has been traded in for his own private cloud. Tremendous character, and sounds like a great guy.
