TNA issued a Twitter note regarding A.J. Styles debuting in the WWE Royal Rumble on Sunday. Two days after making public claims that Styles, Karl Anderson, and Doc Gallows signed with the company back in December only to back out on the deal, TNA congratulated Styles. The tweet reads: “Congrats to TNA Original @AJStylesOrg on his debut tonight. Wish him all the best.”

Powell’s POV: ROH also extended well wishes to Styles by noting that he bid farewell to the company and now “everyone will find out how PHENOMENAL he is.” Did TNA have a change of heart? Was this a PR move given how negative the fan reaction was to their statement on Friday? If TNA was not in the right legally or did not intend to follow through legally, then they should not have handled it the way they did. It’s something that Dixie Carter or someone else from the company could have discussed in a future interview as it would have made for an interesting anecdote, but the way they played it came off as sour grapes in the eyes of a lot of fans.
