The Nashville Chancery court judge ruled against Billy Corgan’s request for a temporary restraining order, according to The Tennessean reporter Nate Rau’s Twitter.com page. Rau labeled it “a big win for Dixie (Carter) and TNA.”
Powell’s POV: The sticking point that many pointed to going into the weekend was that the contract that Corgan and Carter signed had terms that were not allowed according to Tennessee law. Therefore, the ruling is not a surprise. It remains to be seen what the fallout will be in terms of potential appeals from Corgan. Anthem Sports & Entertainment stated in last week’s hearing that they are willing to repay Corgan the amount he loaned to Carter. The belief is that Anthem will end up buying majority control of TNA, Jason Brown of Aroluxe will end up running the business side of the company, and Carter will maintain a minority stake and receive a fancy title.
