AEW Collision (Episode 100)
Taped July 2, 2025, in Ontario, California, at Toyota Arena
Simulcast on July 5, 2025, on TNT and Max
[Hour One] TNT Champion Adam Cole made his entrance while the broadcast team of Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness checked in. Cole delivered his storytime line. He spoke with pride about what Collision has become over the last 100 episodes. He said he will hold onto the TNT Championship.
Kyle Fletcher made his entrance and spoke from the entrance ramp. Fletcher said the next 100 episodes of Collision and the future of the company belong to him. Fletcher recalled Cole main eventing All In 2023. Fletcher said Cole defended the ROH Tag Titles against Fletcher earlier in the show.
Fletcher said it was the worst night of his life. Fletcher said he’s a totally different man after killing that version of himself. Fletcher said he wants to make Cole feel like he did two years ago. Fletcher said he wants a shot at the TNT Championship at the All In Texas event.
Daniel Garcia came out and spoke from the stage. Garcia said he and Fletcher would meet later in the show. Garcia said he was distracted by seeing Cole, who beat him for the title, holding the belt. Garcia said he needs the championship.
Cole said he respects Garcia and would give him a title shot whenever, but he beat him before and would beat him again. Cole said he had Fletcher beat the last time they met, but the Callis Family got involved. Cole said they could go all in.
Cole said both men want a shot at his title, and he volunteered to face them both at All In. Fletcher said no. He recalled beating Garcia in the Continental Classic, yet never got a shot at the title. Garcia questioned if Fletcher thought beating him made him worthy of the title.
“Congratulations, who hasn’t beaten Daniel Garcia?” Garcia said. He explained that he loses and gets back up again. Garcia said they should put it all on the line when they meet later in the show. Garcia called for the winner to get a shot at the TNT Title at All In Texas. Cole agreed to the proposal…
Powell’s POV: Why in the world didn’t they just announce Fletcher vs. Garcia as a No. 1 contenders match prior to the show? Sure, it’s a nice development for those of us watching, but perhaps they could have pulled more viewers in had they played up the stakes ahead of time, not just had Excalibur casually list the match with the other matches he hyped for tonight’s show during Dynamite. On a side note, Cole really needs to shake things up. The “story time” opening and the “undisputed” closing lines are beyond tired.
A video package aired with AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm talking about facing Mercedes Mone at All In Texas…
Ring announcer Arkady Aura delivered the introductions for the opening match. Shelton Benjamin and MVP came out first. Nick Wayne came out next with his mother and Kip Sabian. Kevin Knight, who had his ribs wrapped, came out with Mike Bailey…
1. Shelton Benjamin (w/MVP) vs. Nick Wayne (w/Mother Wayne, Kip Sabian) vs. Kevin Knight (w/Mike Bailey) in a three-way. Benjamin roughed up Knight at ringside early in the match before tossing him back in the ring. Wayne tried to steal the pin, but Knight kicked out. Wayne was on the offensive heading into a picture-in-picture break. [C]
Benjamin tossed Wayne in powerbomb position into Knight, and then followed up with two release German suplexes on both men. A short time later, Wayne and Knight both hit dives from the ring to the floor.
Knight brought Wayne back to the ring, but Wayne hit him with a Destroyer for a near fall. Wayne set up Knight for a move, but Knight countered into an inside cradle for a near fall. Knight dropkicked Wayne and struggled to get to his feet.
Wayne rolled to ringside while Benjamin returned to the ring. Benjamin put Knight in an ankle lock while Knight was over the top rope. Wayne returend to the ring and kicked Benjamin and then hit Wayne’s World. Wayne went for the pin, but Knight hit Wayne with UFO and then pinned Benjamin…
Kevin Knight defeated Nick Wayne and Shelton Benjamin in a three-way in roughly 11:00.
Powell’s POV: An enjoyable opening match. Knight and Bailey need some juice heading into All In Texas. Knight gained a little by pinning Benjamin rather than Wayne.
Footage aired from after Dynamite of a cameraman following The Deat Riders toward their locker room. Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta turned and faced the camera. Castagnoli complained about The Opps. Castagnoli said the AEW Trios Titles are his. Yuta chimed in and said they are his too… [C]
Powell’s POV: Moxley is a little too busy at All In Texas to worry about the AEW Trios Titles, so I suspect this means Pac will be returning soon.
2. Mistico, Hologram, and Mark Briscoe vs. Hechicero, Rocky Romero, and Trent Beretta. The entrances of both teams were televised, and the crowd popped for Mistico and his song. Briscoe wanted to perform his usual running jump off a chair in the ring, but one of the heels moved the chair, which drew boos from the crowd. The heel trio was in control heading into a PIP break. [C]
Schiavone announced that Mistico will be in the men’s Casino Gauntlet match, and Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin vs. Kevin Knight and Mike Bailey vs. Christian Cage and Nick Wayne in a three-way for the AEW Tag Team Titles at All In Texas.
Late in the match, Briscoe and Hologram performed stereo dives off of chairs in the ring onto Hechicero and Beretta on the floor. In the ring, Mistico caught Romero in an armbar and got the submission win.
Mistico, Hologram, and Mark Briscoe defeated Hechicero, Rocky Romero, and Trent Beretta in 10:00.
As the babyfaces were celebrating to Miscico’s entrance theme, they were interrupted by MJF and MVP on the big screen. MJF told Hologram to teleport his ass back to the hotel, because he wanted to talk to Mistico and Briscoe.
MJF said he would consider speaking with Briscoe one-on-one. MFJ acknoweldged Mistico being in the Casino Gauntlet match. MJF said he intends to beat Mark Briscoe before anyone else can enter the match. Mistico’s theme played and the babyfaces went back to celebrating…
Footage aired of Swerve Strickland being the honorary pace car driver at a NASCAR race. Anna Jay was also at the event…
Max Caster stood in the ring and had the crowd do the usual “best wrestler alive” chant for him. Caster stopped them and scolded them for not getting it right. He encouraged them to chant, “This crowd sucks.” Many fans atually did. Caster called for a five-minute open challenge.
A Scorpio Sky video package aired. Sky spoke about starting in Southern California. He spoke about a fight camp while footage aired of him training with Christopher Daniels, Dante Martin, and Darius Martin while Leila Grey watched. Sky walked onto the stage with Daniels, the Martins, and Grey, and then he and Daniels walked to the ring together…
3. Scorpio Sky (w/Christopher Daniels) vs. Max Caster in a five-minute open challenge. There was a “welcome back” chant for Sky, who finished off Caster with a cutter…
Scorpio Sky defeated Max Caster in 0:55 in a five-minute open challenge.
Sky and Daniels were celebrating when the show abruptly cut to break… [C]
Powell’s POV: It’s good to see Sky back after another long layoff. I’m not really sure what Daniels adds to his act or if he’ll be aligned with Top Flight going forward, but
Ricochet was interviewed by Lexi Nair on the backstage interview set. Nair asked what Ricochet said to “Gates of Agony” Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun before they destroyed AR Fox. Ricochet declined to comment. He said actions speak louder than words.
Ricochet had a cameraman follow him into the hallway where Gates of Agony were standing over Blake Christian and Lee Johnson. Ricochet told Christian and Johnson would have to earn his respect. Ricochet and GOA walked off together while Christian and Johnson were still down…
Willow Nightingale made her entrance while her opponent was still in the ring…
4. Willow Nightingale vs. Vipress. Willow offered a handshake, but Vipress slapped her hand away.
[Hour Two] Kris Statlander was shown watching the match on a backstage monitor. Wheeler Yuta tapped her on the shoulder. Statlander stormed away. Back in the ring, Willow hit The Pounce and then followed up with a Doctor Bomb for the win…
Willow Nightingale beat Vipress in 2:00.
Powell’s POV: A good showcase for Willow, who got a really nice reaction from the live crowd. That’s especially impressive given that this crowd already sat through Dynamite before this taping.
Footage aired from backstage at Dynamite of Renee Paquette tried to speak with Anthony Bowens, who was sitting on the ground dejected after his match. Billy Gunn showed up and pulled Bowens to his feet. Bowens was bothered by Gunn not being at ringside during his match. Gunn said he was in the back watching Bowens do his thing.
Gunn said there will be bumps in the road now that Bowens is a singles wrestler. Gunn said they needed to get back together and things would be good. Bowens said he lost his opportunity to get in the Casino Gauntlet match and questioned now what. Gunn encouraged Bowens to trust him, and then they did the scissors handshake…
Powell’s POV: Gee, great, Billy Gunn isn’t finished dwarfing Bowens for no good reason.
5. “FTR” Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler (w/Stokely Hathaway) vs. “The Outrunners” Turbo Floyd and Truth Magnum. Both entrances were televised. Schiavone hyped that Collision and the All In Texas countdown special will both air on Thursday. The Outrunnrs got Harwood down and set up for their handshake, but Wheeler shoved the Outrunners together, which drew boos from the crowd. [C]
After getting some near falls, the Outrunners hit Wheeler with Shatter Machine. Magnum covered Wheeler and the crowd was rocking, but Harwood broke up the pin at the last moment. A short time later, FTR hit Floyd with Shatter Machine and Wheeler pinned him.
FTR” Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler defeated “The Outrunners” Turbo Floyd and Truth Magnum in roughly 19:00.
Hathaway was shown holding the leg of Magnum, which prevented him from breaking up the pin that ended the match… [C]
Powell’s POV: This was a pleasant surprise with good work from both teams that had the live crowd invested. I like that Hathaway held Magnum’s foot. It’s not that the Outrunners need to be protected, but this put heat on Hathaway while also giving the Outrunners a good reason to seek a rematch. For whatever it’s worth, they shuffled up the match order. Dot Net’s own Will Pruett attended the show. The opener was the same, and then they followed up with FTR vs. The Outrunners, the trios match, Sky vs. Caster, Willow vs. Vipress, and then the last two matches will air in order.
Entrances for the “all-star eight-woman tag match” took place…
6. Thunder Rosa, Queen Aminata, Anna Jay, and Tay Melo vs. ROH Women’s Champion Athena, Thekla, Julia Hart, and Megan Bayne (w/Penelope Ford, Sky Blue). Rosa and Aminata were double teaming Bayne heading into an early PIP break. [C]
Schiavone hyped the following matches and segments for Dynamite: Toni Storm and Mercedes Mone meet face-to-face, Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Matthew Jackson, and Nicholas Jackson vs. Hangman Page, Will Ospreay, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Katsuyori Shibata, MJF and Mark Briscoe have a “talky-talk”, and Samoa Joe vs. Wheeler Yuta, Megan Bayne vs. Tay Melo vs. Queen Aminata vs. Thekla in a four-way for the No. 2 spot in the women’s Casino Gauntlet match…
Rosa and Athena fought to the back while a graphic listed their ROH Women’s Championship match for Friday’s ROH Supercard of Honor. In the ring, Jay put Bayne down with a DDT and tried to get to her corner, but Blue pulled Melo off the apron and ran her into the barricade.
A short time later, Ford tried to get involved, but Jay slammed her head on the turnbuckle pad several times. Jay turned and walked into a clothesline from Bayne, who followed up with a running sit-out powerbomb and then got the three count…
Athena, Thekla, Megan Bayne, and Julia Hart defeated Thunder Rosa, Queen Aminata, Anna Jay, and Tay Melo in 10:00.
An Alex Windsor video package aired. She spoke about wrestling for eight years on the UK independent scene and then suffering a torn ACL when she was finally gaining momentum. She spoke of making a comeback and how her mission now is to win gold in AEW… [C]
Powell’s POV: This was fine, but AEW needs to pull back on these all-star eight-person tag matches. I like that they are introducing Windsor through some video packages.
Kyle Fletcher made his entrance with Don Callis and Lance Archer. Daniel Garcia came out with Matt Menard. They hugged on the stage and then Garcia headed to the ring while Menard went to the back…
7. Kyle Fletcher (w/Don Callis, Lance Archer) vs. Daniel Garcia to for a shot at the TNT Championship at All In Texas. Adam Cole and Callis sat in on commentary. Callis said Menard is a waste of skin. Funny. Fletcher performed a mocking version of Garcia’s dance. There was a burst in crowd volume and an oddly timed “this is awesome” chant broke out, as the match was under three minutes in. The crowd noise seemed sweetened at this point, but perhaps Will Pruett will say otherwise during his audio review.
Fletcher launched Garcia into the barricade and then posed next to a “Fletch Light Section” fan sign. Garcia came up bleeding from the forehead. Fletcher toyed with Garcia heading into another PIP break. [C]
Late in the match, Garcia caught Fletcher in the Dragontamer. Fletcher teased tapping out, but he grabbed Garcia’s head and was able to escape the hold. Garcia set up Fletcher for a suplex, but both men tumbled over the top rope to the floor. Callis stood up and encouraged Fletcher.
Fletcher suplexed Garcia on the floor. Fletcher powerbombed Garcia on the apron. Cole stood up at the broadcast table while Callis laughed about how Fletcher performed the same move on him.
[Overrun] Cole got up and encouraged Garcia, who beat the referee’s count. Fletcher hit a running kick in the corner and then followed up with a brainbuster for the win…
Kyle Fletcher defeated Daniel Garcia in 14:40 to earn a shot at the TNT Championship at All In Texas.
Powell’s POV: Garcia’s face was a mess from the physical match. It was a good main event with high stakes, especially by Collision standards. The right guy went over. Garcia feels cold, whereas Fletcher continues to stand out as a rising star. It was nice to see a clean finish, and I’m especially pleased that they opted to go with Cole vs. Fletcher at All In Texas rather than a three-way match.
Overall, this was a better-than-average edition of Collision. I’m looking forward to hearing Will Pruett talk about the in-person experience and how it compared to when he watched the show back on television when he records his weekly audio review for Dot Net Members (including our Patreon patrons). Enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend. Join me for my live review of AEW All In Texas live next Saturday.
