WWE has revealed the brackets for the eight-man tournament that will crown the new U.S. Champion. The remaining first-round matches are Zack Ryder vs. Mojo Rawley, and Xavier Woods vs. Aiden English.
Powell’s POV: Bobby Roode beat Baron Corbin and will face the winner of Ryder vs. Rawley, and Jinder Mahal will face the winner of the Woods vs. English match. It was not specified whether the remaining first-round matches will play on Tuesday’s Smackdown or when the finals will take place, but I suspect we’ll get the first-round matches on Tuesday. Meanwhile, WWE has not provided any storyline logic as to why these eight wrestlers were selected for the tournament.

Didn’t they though? Rawley and Ryder are feuding and aren’t The New Day and Rusev and English going after the tag titles?
No. How many singles matches have Woods or English won to justify a spot in a feud for a singles title? It’s not a big deal, but I view it as lazy booking.
