WWE Live Event
Dubai, UAE at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium
Report by Graham Caygill (more details at The National Newspaper)

The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium was around 80 percent full. Natalya opened the show by coming to the ring to thank everyone for coming and, like Alicia Fox had done the previous night, celebrate being one of the first Women’s Superstars to make an appearance in the UAE.

1. Kalisto beat Alberto Del Rio to retain the United States Title. A fun match, with lots of Lucha Dragons chants. Good finishing stretch ends with Kalisto getting the pin to retain.

2. Fandango beat Damien Sandow. Sandow came out as a face and thanked the crowd for cheering him the previous night, but then was booed heavily after he criticized Emiratis for singing Fandango’s theme. Fandango won a short match with leg drop off top rope.

3. Big Show beat Los Matadores in a handicap match. A squash match in which Show beat up both men at leisure and gets win by pinning both men at same time after delivering a double chokeslam.

4. Sami Zayn beat Kevin Owens. Owens is a master of antagonizing a crowd and his expressions, gestures, and verbal abuse to both Zayn and members of the crowd turned an initial respectful reaction when he came out into real heat. Good back and forth closing segment ends with Zayn winning with the Ole kick.

Intermission

5. R-Truth beats Bo Dallas (w/Heath Slater). R-Truth, who remains very over in the UAE with his schtick, got a roll-up win. Dallas and Slater beat Truth down afterwards but Goldust made the save.

6. AJ Styles beat Ryback. A really good match with Styles taking a lot of punishment from Ryback before winning with a springboard forearm.

7. The Miz beat Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler in a Triple Threat to retain the Intercontinental Title. A fun Triple Threat with all three men hitting their finishers to create some great near falls. The finish saw Ambrose hit Dirty Deeds on Ziggler, but Miz snuck up and rolled up Ambrose, grabbing hold of the rope for leverage as he got the pin. Post match, Miz denied cheating to win, but ate both Ambrose and Ziggler’s finishers. Ambrose and Ziggler then celebrated with fans and pose for pictures to close the show.
