WWE officially confirmed Orlando, Florida’s Citrus Bowl for the location of WrestleMania 33, which will be held on April 2, 2017. “All of us were very favorably impressed by all of the improvements made to the Citrus Bowl…” WWE executive John Saboor stated in a story written by Brian Fritz for OrlandoSentinel.com. “WWE very much looks forward to working again with leaders from throughout Central Florida to build a blueprint to welcome the world to Orlando for WrestleMania 33”
Powell’s POV: The story also features quotes from Orlando and Florida officials about WrestleMania returning to the city for the first time since 2008. It’s odd that WWE waited until now to make the announcement given that they were in Orlando for the Royal Rumble and presumably could have made the announcement at that time.
