Steve Corino will be finishing up with Ring of Honor in December, and will become a full-time trainer at the WWE Performance Center in January. Corino recently spent time at the WWE Performance Center as a guest trainer.
Powell’s POV: Corino is available to work for ROH though Final Battle and the television tapings that follow. It’s a significant loss for ROH in that he and Kevin Kelly work very well together, and there’s been a decline when others have filled in for Corino on color commentary. Meanwhile, one can only wonder whether WWE will consider Corino for a commentary role. Corey Graves is calling Raw and NXT, and will also be adding 205 Live to his plate next week. When Graves moved to Raw, I asked Paul “Triple H” Levesque in a conference call with the pro wrestling media about the NXT color commentator position. Levesque indicated that it was up in the air at that point, though Graves has continued to hold the NXT position since then. With Corino in the fold and working at the Performance Center, he would seem to be a logical fit if WWE officials choose to lighten Graves’s workload. However, I have not been given any indication that Corino was hired to do more than work as a trainer.
