The first Battle of the Belts special delivered 704,000 viewers with a 0.27 rating back in January. Battle of the Belts 2 delivered 527,000 viewers and a 0.18 rating back in April. Silence from the idiots on here that said it wouldn’t draw 215K.

  2. What I said was “the over/under was 215k” so if you picked the over you won!! Feel free to take your ticket to the window to collect your winnings

I like the concept of Battle of the Belts. But to be successful AEW needs to do two things
    1 Run them live
2 Have at least one major title on the line

A night other than Sat might help too.

    • 3. Promote them more than 8-9 days out (one Dynamite’s worth of promotion for this one).
      4. Properly build to each match rather than just throwing together matches that appeal to match junkies.

Good show, especially if you’re just looking for matches. And some people are, but why not play to the masses by giving the talent some actual promo time, even if it’s in video packages?

  3. 5. I’d say figure out a way to give the show the camaraderie level of the Saturday’s Nights Main Event specials of the eighties; easier said then done. Overall as it was last weekends show wasn’t bad at all; it was kind of like a WCW Clash of the Champions with the fat trimmed.
