Cole narrated arrival shots of Stephanie Vaquer, Becky Lynch, The Judgment Day’s Dominik Mysterio, WWE Women’s Champion Liv Morgan, Women’s Intercontinental Champion Raquel Rodriguez, and Roxanne Perez…
Cole set up a video package that recapped last week’s Roman Reigns promo, and the main event with Jacob Fatu beating Royce Keys in a Street Fight, followed by Fatu attacking Keys after the bell…
Cole and Corey Graves checked in from their ringside broadcast table. Cole said Royce Keys suffered a bruised larynx and a cervical strain during Fatu’s attack. Cole said Keys would be out indefinitely…
Solo Sikoa interrupted the broadcast team while delivering a mocking impersonation of the Usos while standing in the section they would normally enter from. Jey Uso’s entrance theme played, and he headed to the ring via the stage. Jey Uso asked Solo Sikoa if he really wanted to do this.
Solo took jabs at Jey and then said he’s not coming back to the family. He said everybody in Virginia loves where he’s at. The fans popped, and some chanted Solo’s name. Solo said he had a message for Roman Reigns, but Jey cut him off and told him to shut his “cocky, spoiled, disrespectful ass up.”
Jey said Solo was there because of the family. He said he would take care of Solo tonight and challenged him to a match. Jey said when he wins, Solo has to return to The Bloodline. Jey delivered his “warning shot.” Solo ducked and then asked if everyone was okay and if anyone got shot. Solo accepted the match and said that when he beats Jey, he and “the messed up family” can leave him alone…
Powell’s POV: The fans are having fun with Solo’s new babyface persona. I get a kick out of it, but I hope he can flip the switch from the comedic approach he’s taking now to being serious when the situation calls for it. Also, WrestleTix listed the venue as being set up for 8,801, with 8,663 tickets distributed. The total number of seats on the map is 9,696, and the venue’s total capacity is listed as 13,800. The last time WWE ran the venue, 8,700 tickets were distributed for the September 12, 2025, Smackdown show.
The broadcast team spoke briefly about the No. 1 contenders tournament for a shot at Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship on the September 14 Raw in Mexico City…
A promo video featured Penta and Laredo Kid. Penta said Kid is an old rival. Kid spoke briefly. Penta said he would win the tournament and face Reigns with all of Mexico behind him…

Jey Uso was shown walking backstage and encountered Jacob Fatu and Jimmy Uso. Fatu said it seemed like Jey was trying to run his own play. Fatu said Jey better win the match to bring Solo back to the family…
1. Penta vs. Laredo Kid in a first-round tournament match for a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. Graves ran through some of Kid’s history. Cole recalled Kid facing Trick Williams on the Saturday Night’s Main Event kickoff show at Madison Square Garden last month. Graves said Kid has been more aggressive lately after years of being af an favorite. Graves said the new approach has served Kid well so far. Graves added it’s only the third singles match meeting between Penta and Kid.
Kid performed a top rope moonsault onto Penta on the floor. Back in the ring, Kid played to the crowd and was booed. Kid performed a senton from the bottom rope and another from the second rope before covering Penta for an early two count. [C]
Penta hit a tope con hilo (flip dive) onto Kid on the floor. Back in the ring, Penta hit the Penta Driver for a near fall. Penta charged Kid, who performed what Cole labeled “a driver.” Kid went up top and attempted a corkscrew dive, but Penta moved. Penta hit the Mexican Destroyer and scored the pin…
Penta beat Laredo Kid in 10:40 to advance to the semifinals of the tournament for a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship.
The updated bracket showed that the winner of Psycho Clown vs. La Parka will face Penta in the semifinals…
Powell’s POV: The live crowd reacted favorably to the match. It was entertaining despite the heavy favorite going over. Barring a twist that leads to a tournament replacement, Penta seems like the heavy favorite to win and challenge Roman Reigns.
Cole hyped the “Road to the Royal Rumble” European tour that was announced earlier today…
Byron Saxton interviewed Logan Paul, Raw Tag Team Champions Bron Breakker and Austin Theory, and Maxxine Dupri. Theory and Dupri were kissing, and Breakker looked like his mind was elsewhere. Logan spoke briefly. Dupri said Akira Tozawa doesn’t stand a chance against Theory, who also spoke briefly.
Breakker stared ahead and didn’t move after the other Vision members walked away. Breakker asked Saxton what he thought of Oba Femi. Saxton said he likes him. Breakker asked if Saxton thinks Oba is the future. “That’s what Brock Lesnar said,” Saxton replied. Breakker told Saxton that he sounded like Paul Heyman and then walked away…
Austin Theory made his entrance with Maxxine Dupri and Logan Paul. Bron Breakker came out behind the others while Logan motioned for him… [C] Cole hyped tickets for Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6 in Atlanta…
2. Austin Theory (w/Maxxine Dupri, Logan Paul, Bron Breakker) vs. Akira Tozawa. The end of Tozawa’s entrance was televised. Breakker was still obsessing over Oba Femi while standing at ringside. Theory was in offensive control before a break. [C]
Tozawa put Theory down with a DDT, which got a rise out of the crowd. Tozawa tore off his t-shirt and then threw kicks to the chest of the kneeling Theory. Tozawa threw another kick to the head of Theory once he was back on his feet, but Theory came right back with the Off Switch (forearm strike) and scored the pin.
Austin Theory defeated Akira Tozawa in 8:25.
The announcers put over Theory’s finisher. Dupri entered the ring and went face-to-face with Theory before shoving him. Theory attacked Tozawa while Cole assumed that he was following Dupri’s marching orders. Theory went to the floor, where Dupri got up close again and handed him a chair.
Raw General Manager Adam Pearce and several producers arrived at ringside before Theory could use the weapon. Bron Breakker entered the ring and set up to spear Tozawa, but he stopped when he heard entrance music.
Oba Femi made his entrance while Breakker stared at him from the ring. Theory ran toward Oba, who dropped him with a kick. The fans chanted Oba’s name as he climbed onto the apron and removed his necklace. Oba entered the ring, but Pearce, the producers, and a bunch of referees got between Oba and a smiling Breakker. Oba stared at Breakker, who smiled as he dropped to the floor…
Powell’s POV: Theory’s forearm finisher looked good, and I liked the way the broadcast team put it over. I thought they might pull back on teasing Oba vs. Bron, but this angle suggests we’ll be seeing that showdown match sooner rather than later.
Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviewed AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio, who wore a “Wrestling Is Real” WWE t-shirt. Rey said Penta and Laredo Kid had a banger of a match. He said Roman Reigns would have his hands full when he defends the title in Mexico.
Dragon Lee entered the picture and thanked Rey for giving him a spot in the tournament. Rey told Dom that he earned it. AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio showed up and took issue with Rey not giving him a spot in the tournament. Rey said he didn’t know Dom wanted another handout, and said that’s what made Dom a jackass in the first place.
Dom asked why Rey handed his spot to a jackass. Lee said he was going to talk to Adam Pearce and he would see Dom in the ring. Dom said he would see Lee in the ring and show him why he’s the greatest Mysterio of all time…
Powell’s POV: Come on, rookie GM. This screamed for Dom defending the AAA Mega Championship in exchange for Lee putting up his spot in the tournament. Rather, Dom and Lee are having a match with nothing at stake.
Stephanie Vaquer was shown walking backstage… [C] Cole hyped Survivor Series tickets for the November 28 event in Houston, Texas…
Highlights aired of the Judgment Day women attacking Stephanie Vaquer four months ago, followed by the segment involving the Judgment Day, Vaquer, and Becky Lynch…
Stephanie Vaquer made her entrance dressed in non-wrestling attire and spoke in the ring. She said she was happy to be there and missed the ring, Raw, and the fans. Vaquer thanked the fans for their support. She said she also missed seeing the Judgment Day get scared when they see her coming.
[Hour Two] Vaquer said she beat up Raquel Rodriguez a thousand times and can do it again. She said Roxanne Perez is a dead woman. Vaquer said she knows Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan is scared. Vaquer said she should be because they both know Morgan has something that belongs to her.
Becky Lynch made her entrance and joined Vaquer in the ring. She said Vaquer seems to be gone as often as she’s there. Lynch said she can’t tell if Vaquer is a badass who rushed back before she was ready, or if her body gives up so that her mind doesn’t have to. Lynch said she would cheer on Vaquer and eat popcorn while she gets her revenge on Morgan. Lynch said the title doesn’t belong to Vaquer. Vaquer told Lynch that she would show her what she’s all about. Vaquer exited the ring.
Liv Morgan attacked Lynch from behind. Lynch quickly rallied and put Morgan down with a Becksploder suplex. Vaquer returned to the ring and threw a clothesline that Morgan ducked, which brought Vaquer face to face with Lynch, who told her to stay out of her business. They bickered a bit more before Lynch left the ring…
Powell’s POV: I like the tension between Vaquer and Lynch because they both want to take the Women’s World Championship from Morgan. But I still think they should take the time to have Lynch address her abrupt shift from heel to babyface.
Cole congratulated Bianca Belair and Montez Ford on the birth of their son Romeo…
Cathy Kelley interviewed LA Knight in a backstage area. Knight recalled Roman Reigns telling him to get to the back of the line. Knight said there’s a tournament for a shot at Reigns and he intends to win it. Kelley pointed out that it’s a tournament for luchadors. “How convenient,” Knight said.
Solo Sikoa arrived, and then Kelley made her exit. Solo recalled the Bloodline attacking Royce Keys last week. Solo said the same thing was going to happen to him, and then Knight would be next. Knight said they teamed for one night only at SummerSlam. Solo said Knight doesn’t get it. He said it’s not Knight vs. Reigns, it’s Knight vs. the entire Bloodline. Solo said he knows Knight doesn’t need his help, but at least he can say that he warned Knight…
Dominik Mysterio made his entrance for his match against Dragon Lee… [C]
3. AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio vs. Dragon Lee in a non-title match. Lee’s entrance was not televised. Lee dropkicked Dom once the referee called for the opening bell. Dom dove from the ring onto Lee on the floor before a break. [C] In the end, Dom hit the 619 and then followed up with a frog splash, but Fenix put his knees up. Fenix hit Operation Dragon and got the pin.
Dragon Lee defeated AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio in a non-title match in 10:35.
Afterward, Big Cass entered the ring and dropped Dragon Lee with a big boot. Cass picked up Lee and bear hugged him before hitting the East River Crossing.
Je’Von Evans ran out while the broadcast team recalled Big Cass attacking him last week. Evans dazed Cass with a kick. Evans went for the OG Cutter, but Cass punched him in midair. Cass followed up with a big boot to the head. Cole recalled Cass saying it was nothing personal. Cole said Cass is stacking bodies and taking names…
Powell’s POV: Poor Lee. He finally got a nice singles win, only to have Big Cass steal his thunder with the post-match attack. Dom continues to be presented as a joke on Raw.
Backstage, Byron Saxton interviewed Sol Ruca about her tag team match against Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez. Ruca said she’s been stuck in the Judgment Day vortex for months and she’s sick of it. She spoke of taking back the Women’s Intercontinental Title. Saxton asked if it was safe to assume she had a tag team partner. Ruca said she’s not the only one who wants revenge against the Judgment Day.
Danhausen showed up and offered to be the tag team partner of “Rucahausen.” Danhausen said he’d do it for a big discount. He changed his mind and said he’d do it for a little discount. Ruca said the spot had been filled and walked away. Danhausen asked Saxton for money, but Saxton said he was out…
Solo Sikoa was shown warming up while the broadcast team hyped his match against Jey Uso as the main event. Graves recalled the stipulations that Jey will deliver Solo to Roman Reigns if he wins, but the family has to leave Solo alone if he wins… [C]
Cole hyped the 40th annual Royal Rumble being held in Glendale, Arizona, at State Farm Stadium…
Backstage, Roman Reigns complained to Adam Pearce about Reigns putting his title on the line against the winner of the tournament he’s not in. Knight called Reigns a coward. Pearce said that on the other side of the tournament, they would find a way to give Knight a path to becoming No. 1 contender.
Knight turned, and Jacob Fatu was waiting. Fatu said Knight doesn’t get it and took issue with him talking about Roman Reigns and his family. Knight shot back at Fatu, who told him to shut up. “Wrong guy,” Knight said. Fatu told him, “No, right guy,” and then rattled off some of his catchphrases before walking away…
Women’s Intercontinental Champion Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez made their entrance for the tag team match. Cole noted that they would face Sol Ruca and a partner, but no one knows who Ruca’s partner is. Sol Ruca made her entrance, followed by her surprise partner, Iyo Sky…
4. Sol Ruca and Iyo Sky vs. Women’s Intercontinental Champion Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez. Cole hyped WWE returning to Hawaii on October 16. Sky went for a suicide dive, but Rodriguez caught her. Ruca ran the apron and then performed a moonsault off the middle rope onto Rodriguez and Sky. Perez ran like she was going to perform a suicide dive, but she stopped because her opponents weren’t in position. Perez went to the apron and then dove onto Ruca and Sky. [C]
In the ring, Perez rolled up Ruca for a two count. Perez went for Pop Rox, but Ruca blocked it by doing a handstand. Ruca superkicked Perez and then hit her with a Sol Snatcher before pinning her…
Sol Ruca and Iyo Sky beat Women’s Intercontinental Champion Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez in 11:50.
Paul Heyman was watching a backstage monitor when Bron Breakker approached him. Breakker assumed Heyman saw what happened. Heyman confirmed that he did. Breakker said Oba got in his face again. “Indeed he did,” Heyman said. Breakker wondered if he could ask Heyman a question. Heyman said Breakker could ask him anything he likes. Breakker asked if Heyman thinks Oba is the future of WWE. Heyman said he has great love for Breakker, both personally and professionally. Heyman said he respects Oba. Heyman said Oba did everything he said he was going to do to Brock Lesnar and has to respect that.
Breakker said that’s not what he asked. Breakker asked if Heyman thinks Oba is the future of WWE. Heyman said he thinks that Breakker is starting to think that Oba is the future of WWE, and that’s the problem. Heyman said he would continue to respect Oba until Breakker shows him that Oba isn’t worthy of his respect. Breakker thought about what Heyman said and said “okay” a couple of times. Breakker looked at Heyman, who nodded. Heyman exhaled once Breakker walked away…
Cole said Heyman slithered his way out of it again. Jey Uso was shown while Cole hyped the main event… [C]
Powell’s POV: Heyman’s exhale at the end was interesting. While his character might be playing it cool while motivating Breakker to go after Oba, the master manipulator showed that even he doesn’t feel like he has total control over the unpredictable Breakker.
Rey Mysterio and Penta were talking when Intercontinental Champion Chad Gable arrived. Gable and Penta were cordial. Gable spoke about the tournament that Rey was putting on, and said he would like to defend his title against Mysterio, who was flattered and accepted the challenge.
The following matches were announced for next week’s Raw in Buffalo, New York: Rey Fenix vs. El Fiscal, and Dragon Lee vs. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. first-round matches in the tournament to become No. 1 contender to the World Heavyweight Championship, and World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns returns…
Sol Ruca and Iyo Sky were celebrating their win as they walked backstage. A disheveled Lyra Valkyria interrupted them. Lyra said she hasn’t been able to regain the Women’s Intercontinental Title and then questioned what makes Ruca think she can. Valkyria warned Ruca to stay out of her way while she goes after the title…
Jey Uso was shown in the concourse, and then he made his entrance through the crowd.
[Hour Three] Jey stopped, and then he and a young fan pumped their arms to Jey’s entrance theme… [C] Solo Sikoa made his entrance…
5. Solo Sikoa vs. Jey Uso. If Jey wins, he will present Solo to Roman Reigns next week. If Solo wins, his family has to leave him alone. Solo cleared Jey from the ring a few minutes in. The crowd was quiet until Solo pumped his arms, and then the fans said “yeet” before a picture-in-picture break. [C]
Solo caught Jey with a spinning heel kick and then put him down with a Spinning Solo for a near fall. Jimmy Uso showed up and distracted Solo before Jey speared Solo and covered him for a near fall of his own.
Jey went to the corner and waited for Solo to stand up and then went for another spear, but Solo caught him with a kick. Jey superkicked him. Solo fired back with an elbow to the head.
Jimmy climbed on the apron and threw a clothesline that Solo ducked while Jey had the referee’s attention. Solo hit Jimmy with a Samoan Spike. Jey speared Solo and then hit him with an Uso Splash before covering him for the win.
Jey Uso defeated Solo Sikoa in 12:15, so Jey will present Solo Sikoa to Roman Reigns next week.
The executive producer credits were shown while the Usos celebrated Jey’s win. Cole closed the show by saying Jey Uso would deliver Solo Sikoa to Roman Reigns on a silver platter next week…
Powell’s POV: The live crowd was quiet during the main event, and it’s easy to see why. Solo was a heel who never really turned babyface, yet is suddenly acting like a babyface. Jey never had a true heel turn and still makes a crowd-pleasing babyface entrance, but he and the other Bloodline members also act like heels at least half of the time. I don’t blame the fans for not knowing who to root for and against. Hopefully, Jey presented Solo to Reigns next week will lead to some clarity, but I wouldn’t hold your breath.
Overall, this was a decent show that lacked star power. Oba Femi was there, but his segment was brief. I will be back with my weekly same-night audio review of WWE Raw for Dot Net Members (including our Patreon patrons). Let me know what you thought of the show by grading it below.

I know Norfolk probably isn’t the stop on the tour that Roman is appearing, but this show really missed him. This Bloodline saga is lost, and he’s the only thing that adds any interest to it. Some follow up on his reaction to what Jacob did last week would’ve been nice. Jason is right. I can’t tell who is babyface and who is heel anymore in this whole thing.
It’s the same for the Death Riders in AEW. Half the time they act as heels (both factions) and half the time they try to be faces.
It’s very confusing.
