NWA Powerrr (Episode 6)
Taped September 30 and October 1, 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia at GPB Studios
Aired November 12, 2019 on the NWA Youtube and NWA Facebook Page

The show opened with a recap of last week’s episode and the appearance by “The Rock & Roll Express” Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson… The “Into The Fire” opening aired… The broadcast team of Joe Galli and Jim Cornette checked in from their desk and hyped a couple of matches…

Dave Marquez stood on the interview set and introduced Morton and Gibson. Morton said they are excited for Eddie Kingston and Homicide to get their shot at the NWA World Tag Titles. Kingston and Homicide came out and hugged Morton and Gibson. Kingston said it was a trip and getting the stamp of approval from the legends made him confident that they would win the titles later in the show…

1. Trevor Murdoch vs. Caleb Konley. Galli spoke about the contrast of styles between the two wrestlers. Murdoch caught Konley diving at him in the corner of the ring and slammed him down with a spinebuster. Konley came back by sweeping Murdoch’s legs and then performing a senton. Konley performed a standing double stomp for a two count. Konley went for a springboard moonsault, but Murdoch put his knees up. Murdoch hit a top rope bulldog and scored the pin…

Trevor Murdoch defeated Caleb Konley.

Powell’s POV: A solid match with Murdoch going over clean. I hope Conley will be more than an enhancement wrestler in the NWA, but it’s not looking like it thus far.

Graphics teased the possibility of Kamille talking, Billy Corgan appearing, and Thunder Rosa teaming with Marti Belle… An ad listed the pre-sale price of the NWA Into The Fire pay-per-view pre-order price of $19.95… Footage aired of Ricky Starks defeating Aron Stevens last week…

Galli interviewed Aron Stevens at the desk. Stevens came out wearing his pirate outfit and said he’s done with the NWA and pro wrestling. He said that Starks beating him last week was a miscarriage of justice. The crowd sang the “goodbye” song. “It’s obvious why Broadway isn’t located in Hotlanta,” Stevens said. He reiterated that he’s quitting. He said he was going back to California and would never return to “this hell hole again.”

Footage aired from last week of Marti Belle attacking Allysin Kay following a nudge from Thunder Rosa…

2. Thunder Rosa and Marti Belle vs. Crystal Rose and Brooklyn Creed. Rosa performed a dropkick at Creed in the corner and followed up with a top rope double stomp for the win…

Thunder Rosa and Marti Belle beat Crystal Rose and Brooklyn Creed.

Powell’s POV: A quick squash style win for the new tag team. Rosa continues to be the standout of the women’s division thus far.

Marquez interviewed Belle and Rosa on the interview set and asked Belle why she joined Rosa. Belle said she doesn’t know much about Rosa, but she’s learned enough to know what this is where her future is. Rosa spoke in Spanish, which Belle translated. Belle said Allysin Kay has no idea what’s coming for her…

The latest “Who Is The Mark? video aired and concluded with a “next” graphic… Nick Aldis hyped his appearance at The Big Event this weekend… The finish of Colt Cabana beating James Storm to win the NWA National Championship aired…

James Storm took the mic from a backstage interviewer and complained about the way he lost the title. Storm said he had bigger fish. Storm said Nick Aldis’s ass is his…

Marquez interviewed Colt Cabana on the interview set. “I am excited,” Cabana yelled while clutching the NWA National Championship. He joked that he sounded like Oprah and then started telling people that they all get championships. Funny. Ricky Starks walked out and took a lap around the desk and told Cabana that he’s “kinda sold on gold”…

3. The Question Mark vs. Dan Parker. There was an early “Question Mark” chant from the crowd. The Question Mark performed a missile dropkick and then threw a thrust strike at Parker and pinned him…

Powell’s POV: The Question Mark wrestler appeared to be Jocephus in throwback gear and a mask. The crowd had fun with it, but it was tough to get a real feel for where this is headed.

A graphic questioned if Kamille will speak… Nick Aldis was featured in the RetroMania video game ad… Footage aired of Thunder Rosa’s MMA training. A teaser said that her “Into The Cage” video is coming soon…

Galli and Cornette spoke at their desk about Kamille. Cornette said she’s a mysterious individual and he initially thought Nick Aldis prevented her from speaking, but now he thinks something is going on in her head. Galli said he would get to the bottom of it somehow…

Eli Drake walked onto the interview set. Marquez held the mic while Drake said he doesn’t give “a good goddamn” about why Kamille isn’t talking. Drake spoke about taking the NWA Championship. The crowd started chanting Question Mark. Drake said he was giving them the exclamation. Drake said the only name on Kamille’s mind is Eli Drake. Thom Latimer and Royce Isaacs walked out. Latimer told Drake to mind his own business. Drake spoke about making Kamille squeal, then Isaacs cut him off and recalled Latimer telling him to mind his own business.

Ken Anderson walked out and stood behind Drake. Anderson said he heard that Drake was looking for someone with a big mouth. Anderson said Drake just needed to say his name. Anderson whispered it twice and then yelled boo. Drake was left speechless… Graphics hyped the upcoming segments…

Billy Corgan sat in an undisclosed location and thanked the fans and hyped the pay-per-view and the December tapings, which he said are no sold out. He encouraged people to join their email list and said their announcement would be on their email list, which can be joined via their website…

Tony Falk was featured in the latest ad for “Tony Falk’s Wrasslin’ Farm” where they grow heels and babyfaces. For only $15,000, you can have your own heel or babyface. He gave out two different phone numbers…

Footage aired from last week of Nick Aldis giving Tim Storm a pep talk…

Galli interviewed Aldis at the desk. Aldis said he hears people in the NWA talk about what they deserve. Aldis said that as the real world champion, it’s his responsibility to remind them all that the business, the NWA, and the fans owe them nothing. Aldis said you earn everything in the ring. Aldis said he’s the reason why the NWA is where it’s at. Aldis said he would sit at ringside to watch the tag team match to make sure that there were no shenanigans. Aldis said that if you’re going to be a champion or even a contender in the NWA then he’ll make sure you do things the right way…

4. The Wild Cards” Royce Isaacs and Thom Latimer vs. Eddie Kingston and Homicide for the NWA Tag Titles. Aldis was seated at ringside. Cornette teased going to break, then they said they were sticking with it because the match got underway and “we can do what we want.” All four men ended up down in the ring at one point. The live crowd chanted “NWA” while the wrestlers were down. Homicide set up for a move from the ropes, but Isaacs dumped him to ringside. Latimer powerbombed Homicide, then Isaacs performed a nice full nelson into a suplex and scored the pin…

Royce Isaacs and Thom Latimer defeated Eddie Kingston and Homicide to retain the NWA Tag Titles.

After the match, Kamille came out and was upset about something, and Aldis tried to talk her down. The “Into the Fire” theme played as James Storm, Eli Drake. The Dawsons, Ken Anderson, and Colt Cabana came out. There appeared to be some bickering amongst the various wrestlers to close the show…

Powell’s POV: I was actually surprised to see The Wild Cards retain the tag titles, as I thought they might be going with a Kingston and Homicide win. The post match scene plays into the ongoing issue of Kamille remaining silent, as Aldis appeared to be telling her to go to the back and she wasn’t happy about it. The rest of the wrestlers coming out seemed to be a way of showcasing the various programs rather than tying them all into the Kamille story. The overall show was entertaining and NWA Powerrr continues to be a true alternative and an hour of television that I look forward to watching each week.
