GCW “No Signal in the Hills”
September 12, 2026, in Los Angeles, California, at the Ukrainian Culture Center

This is arguably their best-drawing venue, as they routinely pack it with 600 or so fans. It’s an ornate room with a high ceiling. Jordan Castle and John Mosley provided commentary.
* The show opened with footage from Friday’s show in Denver. The participants of the first match were already at ringside.
1. “Team MPW” Dustin Daniels, Draven Silvera, and Miggy Rose vs. “Team GCW” Davina Thorne, Jeffrey John, and Juni Underwood. This is a bonus, unadvertised match. I’ve seen Miggy at least once, but I’m not sure about his MPW partners. Dustin Daniels and Juni opened. Jeffrey John tagged in and twisted Dustin’s arm. John hit a back-body drop on the short Rose. Davina entered (she is a ‘Karen’ character, always complaining and high-maintenance). She hit a huracanraa at 2:30. The locals began working over Thorne in their corner.
They held Thorne upside down, and one of the MPW guys hit a top-rope crossbody block on her for a nearfall at 4:30. Juni got a hot tag and hit some clotheslines. Juni piled two guys in the corner and hit a rolling cannonball for a nearfall. Juni hit a plancha to the floor at 6:00. Miggy hit a dive through the ropes. Dustin hit a dive. Draven, who has a splash of blond in his dark hair, hit a flip dive onto everyone. Jeffrey hit a top-rope moonsault to the floor on everyone.
In the ring, Dustin hit a Disaster Kick. Draven hit a Swanton Bomb on Jeffrey for a nearfall. The MPW guys hit stereo forearm strikes on Jeffrey. All six brawled in the ring. Team GCW hit stereo superkicks. John hit a rolling Koppo Kick into the corner. He hit an Athena-style flying stunner on Dustin. Juni hit a Bailey-style Flamingo Driver (similar to a One-Winged Angel) on Daniels for the pin. Good action; that’s the right way to start a show.

* Footage aired of Joseph Sawyer winning the GCW World Title and the controversial return of Drake Younger.
2. “Cowboy Way” 1 Called Manders and Thomas Shire vs. “The Savage Gnomes” Gabby Forza and Bear Bronson. These four have fought before. Bronson was in another brutal deathmatch 22-ish hours earlier. This was supposed to be a six-person tag, but Juicy Finau’s wife just gave birth, so he’s off the show. Manders and Bronson opened, shoving their foreheads together before trading forearm strikes. Gabby jumped in, but Manders hit a forearm strike, and all four brawled. They went to the floor and brawled through the crowd.
They brawled over by some stairs where the hard camera was placed; I don’t think I’ve seen that spot of the building before! Gabby jumped on Shire’s back and choked him. Meanwhile, Bear and Manders were brawling elsewhere. They made their way back to ringside. Gabby hit some chops on Manders at 4:30 as he was seated in the front row. Bear and Manders got in the ring and traded punches. Gabby scooped up Bear and bodyslammed her husband on Manders at 8:30. She hit a senton.
Bear backed Manders into a corner and hit some chops. Manders hit the Oklahoma Stampede (Bulldog Powerslam) on Manders for a nearfall at 10:30. Shire jumped in and stomped on Bear. Bronson hit a Black Hole Slam on Manders! Gabby got a hot tag, and she hit a splash in the corner on Shire and repeated forearm strikes. Gabby hit a Samoan Drop on Manders at 12:30! She gave Shire a DVD, dropping Thomas onto Manders! This crowd was going NUTS. She hit a top-rope senton splash on Manders for a nearfall.
A door was placed in the ring. Manders hit an Oklahoma Stampede, tossing Gabby through the door at 14:30! Cowboy Way set up a door bridge. Bronson hit Manders with a chairshot to the head that Manders partially blocked. Gabby hit a Bulldog Powerslam from the second rope, dropping Manders through the door bridge for a nearfall at 16:00! The crowd chanted “Fight forever!” Bronson hit a second-rope elbow drop. Shire hit Bronson over the head with door debris. All four got up and fought. Manders tossed Forza to the floor, then he struck door debris over Bear’s head.
Bear hit Manders with the debris. Shire executed an airplane spin and tossed Bronson to the mat. Gabby hit a German Suplex and a spear! Manders hit a clothesline, but Gabby kicked out at one! Manders hit another clothesline, but she kicked out again! “We are witnessing an all-timer here in Los Angeles!” Castle said. Manders missed a moonsault. Gabby immediately cut him in half with a spear! She dove onto Shire. Bear nailed the Fire Thunder Driver on Manders for the pin! “What a frickin’ match!” Castle shouted. That was far better than anything on Friday’s show in Denver.
“The Savage Gnomes” Gabby Forza and Bear Bronson defeated “Cowboy Way” Thomas Shire and 1 Called Manders at 20:45.
* All four shared beers. Bear got on the mic and put over Cowboy Way. “That one was for Andy the Butcher,” Bronson said, and he did Butcher’s signature knee-drops to the mat.
3. Frightmare vs. Chris Nastyy. A bit surprising to see Frightmare here. (Did they fly him out from the East Coast?) Nastyy is a regular on the West Coast scene; he has dark hair and a thick mustache. They immediately traded rollups. Frightmare hit a huracanrana. Nastyy backed him into a corner and hit some chops; Frightmare landed some chops, too. They fought to the floor at 4:00. In the ring, Frightmare hit a standing moonsault for a nearfall. Chris hit some clotheslines and a second-rope missile dropkick.
Nastyy set up for a dive, but Frightmare caught him with a spin kick. Frightmare hit a huracanrana to the floor. Nastyy hit a stunner for a nearfall. Frightmare hit a Helluva Kick and a Crucifix Driver for a nearfall at 8:30. Nastyy went for a handspring-back move, but Frightmare hit a European Uppercut. Nastyy hit a huracanrana off the apron to the floor, but Chris landed pretty hard, too. Chris hit a flip dive to the floor. In the ring, Nastyy hit a top-rope frog splash for the pin! Good action; you could truly tell how much having this match meant to Nastyy. Castle did a great job here selling the importance of this moment, too.

* A video aired showing the history that led to the next match! I haven’t written it recently, but GCW does a great job with these videos. Also, Emil Jay joined Castle on commentary.
4. Hook and “Bustah & The Brain” Alec Price and Jordan Oliver vs. KJ Orso, Sam Stackhouse, and Atticus Cogar. A bit surprising that the AEW trio weren’t in Massachusetts for Collision. (Price has a thick Boston accent.) Oliver and Cogar opened. Atticus hit a standing moonsault on Price for a nearfall at 2:00. Price hit a snap suplex and an elbow drop on KJ. Stackhouse — dressed tonight like the Big Boss Man in a blue shirt — entered and traded blows with Hook! All six began fighting. Ref Scarlett Donovan was losing control!
The babyfaces threw Orso and Stackhouse to the floor, then they took turns splashing onto Atticus in a corner. Sam crotched Hook around the ring post at 5:00. Cogar hit an Exploder Suplex on Price. The heels began working over Alec. Orso hit a neckbreaker over his knee. Atticus hit a moonsault for a nearfall at 6:30. The heels continued to work over Alec. Oliver finally got a hot tag at 8:30, and he hit a flying clothesline to drop Stackhouse! Stackhouse applied a bear hug. Oliver couldn’t get his arms around Sam’s waist. However, moments later, Jordan hit a German Suplex at 11:30, earning a “Holy Shit!” chant.
Hook got a hot tag and hit a head-capture suplex on Orso. He tackled Atticus and hit a fisherman’s suplex on Atticus. Orso dove off the top rope, but Hook sidestepped it, and Castle made the Samoa Joe reference. Atticus hit an Air Raid Crash. Sam hit a spinning heel kick to Hook’s jaw for a nearfall at 13:30. Price hit a Frankensteiner to flip Orso onto Stackhouse! KJ and Price traded knee strikes. KJ hit a mid-ring Spanish Fly on Price at 15:00. Price and Oliver went for the team Styles Clash, but Orso hit a double huracanrana to escape. Orso hit a top-rope Spiral Tap to the floor, but he landed hard, too.
In the ring, Hook locked in the Redrum sleeper on Atticus, but Sam struck Hook with a nightstick! Atticus hit the Brain Hemorrhage snapmare driver for a nearfall on Hook, but Oliver made the save. We got a “This is awesome!” chant. Oliver and Orso traded forearm strikes at 17:30. KJ shook the ropes to crotch Oliver in the corner. They fought in the corner, and KJ bit Jordan’s forehead. Hook jumped on Sam’s back and applied the Redrum sleeper! Meanwhile, Oliver and Price hit the team Styles Clash on Orso, with Jordan pinning KJ. That was really good, too.
Hook and “Bustah & The Brain” Alec Price and Jordan Oliver defeated KJ Orso, Sam Stackhouse, and Atticus Cogar at 19:02.
* Oliver got on the mic and thanked Hook for helping them out tonight. Price got on the mic and said they made a statement tonight, and they want a tag title shot again. Price wants the match on October 10 back in New Jersey!
5. Anakin Murphy vs. JKM vs. Mr. Danger vs. Nino Extremo vs. Dr. Redacted vs. Christian Napier. I got my fill of death matches on Friday, so I passed on this one. At the end of the match, Nino hit a top-rope Falcon Arrow through a barbed-wire board bridge on GKM for the pin. The ring and competitors were less bloody than I anticipated.
Nino Extremo defeated Anakin Murphy, JKM, Mr. Danger, Dr. Redacted and Christian Napier at 18:58.
6. B3cca vs. Zara Zakher. International pop star B3cca came out first and sang; she really has been on quite a U.S. tour, anyway! Zara’s run as a WWE ID prospect was short, but she’s really talented. (There’s a reason she got that deal to begin with!) B3cca rolled to the floor to avoid locking up. Zara kicked her off the apron to the floor. She sat B3cca in the front row and chopped her. They looped ringside, and Zara threw her back into the ring at 1:30. However, B3cca stomped on Zara as she re-entered the ring. Zara hit a huracanrana.
Zakher hit a leaping Flatliner for a nearfall. She hit a basement dropkick to the back. B3cca tied her in the ropes and planted her foot in Zara’s throat, and she twisted the left arm around the top rope. B3cca hit some chops. They traded forearm strikes. She stood on Zara’s hair and pulled on her wrists, then threw her face-first into the turnbuckles at 6:30. She hit a snap suplex and applied a cross-armbreaker, but Zara quickly got her feet on the ropes. B3cca hit a superkick. Zara nailed a jumping knee to the jaw, and they were both down at 8:00. Zara hit a sunset flip for a nearfall.
B3cca hit a missile dropkick to the head as Zara was in the ropes. Zara nailed a second-rope superplex, but B3cca held on and hit a brainbuster for a nearfall at 10:00! Zara flipped her over and also got a nearfall. B3cca went back to a cross-armbreaker. Zara hit a German Suplex, then a Shining Wizard for a believable nearfall. They got to their feet and traded forearm strikes. This has been really, really sharp.
B3cca hit a top-rope 450 Splash for a nearfall at 13:00. B3cca hit a running knee to the jaw; she jumped to her feet and threatened the referee. They lost the signal from the venue! Ugh! It literally returned 30 seconds later as Zara was getting the three-count. NO! Luckily, they showed the replay, as Zara executed her standing back flip-into-a-stunner for the pin. That was truly a top-notch women’s match.
Zara Zakher defeated B3cca at 14:32.
7. Joseph Sawyer vs. Samuel Shaw for the GCW World Title. The former Wyatt Family members square off! Shaw came out first, looking very much like his Dexter Lumis run — the long hair is all gone. They stood nose to nose and shoved each other, back and forth, with each shove becoming more violent. Sawyer hit a shoulder tackle, but Shaw popped back to his feet. Shaw knocked him down, but Sawyer couldn’t kip up, for some good humor. Shaw helped him up, but then Sawyer attacked him! Sawyer went for a Sister Abigail at 4:00, but Shaw escaped and scrambled to the floor.
Shaw went under the ring and got chairs, and slid one to Joseph. They clanged the chairs together. Dexter hit a hip-toss onto an open chair at 6:30, and now it was Joseph who rolled to the floor to regroup. They brawled on the floor and looped the ring. Sawyer tossed some doors into the ring and struck Shaw with chairs. He finally re-entered the ring at 11:00 and set up a door bridge. Shaw got back into the ring and hit an F5 faceplant, and they were both down. Shaw placed Sawyer on the door bridge. He hit a top-rope double stomp onto Sawyer’s chest, breaking the door bridge in half at 13:00, and they were both down.
Sawyer picked him up and hit a running release powerbomb through a door in the corner for a nearfall. Shaw powerbombed Shaw onto a folded chair. Sawyer hit a second-rope superplex at 16:30, with Shaw landing on a folded chair, and they were both down. They got up and traded forearm strikes. Sawyer hit his handspring-back-clothesline. Shaw hit a uranage and locked in a sleeper on the mat! Sawyer quickly got his feet on the ropes at 18:00. Sawyer finally hit the Sister Abigail to score the pin!
Joseph Sawyer defeated Samuel Shaw to retain the GCW World Title at 18:43.
* Sawyer grabbed the mic. However, the VNDL 48 trio jumped in the ring and attacked Sawyer and Shaw. They quickly announced a match for November 7, as Sawyer and Shaw will face the Cogar brothers.
8. Otis Cogar vs. Vipress for the GCW Ultraviolent Title. Weapons were already at ringside, and ref Scarlett Donovan was already wearing work gloves. Vipress avoided a chair shot, and she hit a shotgun dropkick into the corner. It has really dawned on me that Vipress has filled the slot previously held by Masha Slamovich as the undersized, tough-as-nails superheroine. Cogar threw her like a lawn dart through a glass pane in the corner at 1:30. UGH, they lost the signal from the venue again! Okay, it’s back 15ish seconds later. They were brawling on the floor. Cogar walked over to an 11-year-old girl who was dressed like Vipress. The girl slapped him across the face twice. (Clearly a planned spot.)
In the ring, he hit an elbow drop for a nearfall. Otis was heavily bleeding from his forehead. He punched at her forehead. Otis slammed Vipress HARD to the mat and struck her across the back with a chair, then hip-tossed her across the ring. He whipped her across the ring, and she basically hit a rolling cannonball through another glass pane at 7:30, and Otis got a nearfall. Vipress tossed him through a glass pane, then through a board in the corner, and she got a nearfall.
Napier got in the ring and struck Vipress. He hit a swinging neckbreaker on her and was loudly booed. Mr. Danger came out to make the save. Atticus appeared and hit a Brain Hemorrhage snapmare driver on Mr. Danger. The Cogars taped her wrists to the top rope. Anakin Murphy charged into the ring and brawled with the Cogars. Gabby Forza and Bear Bronson headed to the ring, and Bear had a long box of light tubes on his shoulder! Gabby freed Vipress. Mr. Danger hit a flip dive over a ring post to the floor.
Bear hit a Choke Bomb on Otis! Bear had his own roll of duct tape, and he taped Otis to the top rope! He slid the big box of light tubes into the center of the ring and left. Vipress began pulling out one light tube after another and cracked them over Otis’s unprotected head. She emptied the full dozen of 12 to 20 tubes. She hit a hard chairshot to his unprotected head. (That’s unnecessary.) Gabby and Bear returned with more bundles of tubes! Otis was free, but Vipress hit a piledriver for a nearfall! She cracked one more bundle of light tubes over his head and got the pin! New champion!
Vipress defeated Otis Cogar to win the GCW Ultraviolent Title at 16:04.
* Several wrestlers jumped in the ring to celebrate with Vipress. Vipress put a young girl on her shoulders, who held the title above her head.
Final Thoughts: A night-and-day difference from Friday’s show in Denver. I want to be clear that I don’t think Friday’s show was “bad,” though there was not a really good, standout match, either. The top three matches on this show were all better than anything on Friday. Savage Gnomes vs. Cowboy Way was a wild brawl. Those four clearly know each other well and trust each other in the ring, and it’s just magic when they get together. Hook/Bustah/Brain earned second place. I liked B3cca-Zakher so much, I’m going with that for third, even though Sawyer-Shaw was pretty good and easily could be the best match on other shows. (And it was better than any match on Friday.) Collectively, that is a tremendously strong top four matches.
While I generally dislike deathmatches, I tuned into the main event, knowing it was going to be wild and that Vipress was likely to finally win the belt in her hometown. Well, it sure delivered what fans in attendance wanted to see. It was fun to see it turn into “the locker room vs. VNDL 48” with everyone in the back wanting Vipress to win.
For the past year or more, I’ve routinely declared Vert Vixen the top U.S. female free agent. With her signing an AEW deal, who is No. 1 now? B3cca is certainly in that conversation, along with perhaps Johnnie Robbie, Brittnie Brooks, and Amira.
No major complaints. As far as the death matches go, I really want to see a stop to those chair shots to the head. And if there are going to be thrown weapons, glass and light tubes, I think it’s imperative to have guardrails to keep fans back at a safe distance. I have said it before, but someday, a fan is going to sue GCW for negligence, and that fan will win. GCW knows what it needs to do to protect the wrestlers from injuries, and to protect the fans from debris. They routinely fail on both. I don’t want to end a review of a really, really good show on a negative note, but it is a warning I hope is at least considered. An excellent show overall.
