WWE will hold its next Saudi Arabia event on Thursday, October 31 at the King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com. Recent WWE events in Saudi Arabia have been held on Fridays, but the Smackdown television series moving to Fox on Fridays forced the change.
Powell’s POV: I did a quick search for Halloween in Saudi Arabia. The first return is a story about how Saudi teens risk arrest and fines to celebrate Halloween, which is banned by the country’s leadership due to the holiday’s “roots in paganism and its association with evil spirits.” In other words, it’s probably safe to assume that WWE will not go with a Halloween theme for this event despite the fact that it will be held on October 31.
Ever since these BloodMoney specials started I have been less prone to giving WWE the benefit of the doubt. By this I mean, when WWE has sucked in the past I always kept watching. I have always believed that things would turnaround; WWE could make me believe. Now I look at their business practices and couple that with the Moxley interviews, and I have a hard time getting excited about the promotion.
Time for something new?
will you be ok?
So all the top stars get to do Smackdown insanely jetlagged? They must be pumped
Yes, but I don’t know if it will be as bad as when they travel back from a UK tour on a Sunday and have TV the next two days. I believe they are overseas before the Saudi show because I remember some UK dates being reshuffled, and they are taping Smackdown in the UK that week.
Jokes on everybody. The show itself will be the real horror show.
