WWE Smackdown Hits
The Miz vs. R-Truth and Truth TV: The talkshow segment was a ridiculous and downright fun segment. I despise the way Carmella became a babyface without an actual turn, but she and Truth have chemistry together and their dance break bit got a laugh out of me. The match was fine and Miz going over was logical even if it apparently means the end of Truth TV after just one episode. The only negative in all of this was Daniel Bryan’s care free attitude regarding Miz. We’ve gone from Bryan like a lunatic while trying to get this hands on his rival to now laughing about Miz while they are just a few feet away from one another. They need to find a happy medium.
Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Tye Dillinger: Is there a storyline reason that Randy Orton has attacked two of Nakamura’s recent challengers? Probably not since Orton said the Perfect 10 stuff just pisses him off. Amen to that, Randy.
Sheamus vs. Big E: A minor Hit. The champions facing challengers in singles match leading up to tag title matches is overdone on both brands. If nothing else, though, at least they gave the challengers two wins to make them look strong going into the title match.
Rusev, Lana, and Aiden English: English stating that he has footage of Lana being up to no good in Milwaukee is a fun hook for next week’s show regardless of whether the footage lives up to the hype. I can’t help but imagine that the footage will include Lana pounding a dozen Old Milwaukee red rocket bottles and hooking up with a random overweight dude wearing a cheesehead hat.
Becky Lynch: She destroyed Charlotte at a photo shoot and then plowed through Lana. What’s not to like? As I’ve said from the start, Lynch will be fine as a heel, and it’s Charlotte who is suffering as the force fed babyface.
WWE Smackdown Misses
Asuka and Naomi vs. Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose: It’s not that I don’t get that they are building toward Asuka and Naomi facing The Iiconics in Australia, it’s that this pairing continues to serve as a reminder of just how dreadful Asuka has been booked since losing to Charlotte at WrestleMania. By the way, there sure a lot of female tag teams these days. Are they introducing women’s tag titles or are they just incapable of booking quality women’s feuds that don’t involve the singles titles?
Lana getting drunk off of Old Milwaukee And hooking up with an overweight guy in a cheesehead hat? So she’s going to hook up with Steve Blackman ?? LOL
