Sami Zayn underwent surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff this week in Birmingham, Alabama. Zayn told the WWE website that he will also undergo surgery on his left rotator cuff in six to seven weeks. “The left one and the right one are both torn,” Zayn said. “I just underwent surgery on the right one, and then in about six or seven weeks, I’ll be undergoing surgery on the left one, and hopefully I can come back healthy and happy.” Read more at WWE.com.

Powell’s POV: Zayn said he hopes to be healthy in time for WrestleMania 35. He also noted that he has been working through the injuries and is unsure when the tears occurred. It’s amazing that the guy was able to work through these injuries and did so at a high level. Here’s wishing him the very best in his recovery.

  1. I’ve had this surgery. The recovery is awful, so bad it seems like it’s worse than having the injury. He’ll be lucky if he can do light weightlifting by the time of Wrestlemania 2019.

  2. I too have had this surgery and it’s awful. Best of luck to Mr. Zayn. He is a great deal of fun to watch.
