Impact Wrestling TV Taping
Orlando, Florida at Universal Studios
Report by Dot Net reader MrEddyG

Notes: The same Canadian referees are here as is the same ring announcer, so it looks like Dave Penzer is gone, unfortunately. Also the Impact ring ropes are back to blue and their lettering is also in blue and white.

1. Matt Sydal vs Fallah Bahh to retain the Impact Grand Championship.

2. Lashley defeated KM. Lashley won with a spear. Very competitive match but KM looks a bit green still.

3. Kiera Hogan defeated Knockouts Champion Laurel Van Ness in a non-title match. Laurel had already hit a curb stomp and was going for an Unprettier when Allie came down to distract her. Kiera rolled her up for the surprising win.

LAX Santana, Ortiz, Konnan, and Homicide) came out. Still no Dimante. Konnan cut a promo that ended with him saying, “If you want peace, there had to be a war.” OVE and Sami Callihan came down to interrupt. Sami said their war may end with one of the teams six feet under. Konnan walked out to tell OVE they have nothing. Trevor Lee and Caleb Konley attacked the rest of LAX with kendo sticks and took them out. Trevor and Caleb mocked them from the stage to end the segment.

4. Moose and Johnny Impact defeated Alberto El Patron and EC3. The heels trapped Johnny for most of the match, until hit a double stomp on him, but he didn’t realize Moose had made the the tag and walked right into a Game Changer for the win. Strong match by both teams, who all worked well together.

Impact Wrestling Global Champion Eli Drake and Chris Adonis came out. Adonis had a surprise for Drake: The Facts of Eli Drake’s Life. FACT: Adonis said Eli is the greatest champion that ever lived. They tried to go some video, but nothing was shown. FACT #2: Eli is the greatest dresser that ever lived. The video of Eli’s career finally started at this point. The crowd was all over Adonis now and Eli told them to be quiet and let him continue. FACT #3: Eli is the greatest friend anyone can have. As they went to the video, they showed Chris dressed in the Turkey Suit and Eli getting a pie in the face. Eli said it’s OK the pie was pretty good. He went on about how he is the best and no one can touch him

Austin Aries had returned and was eating a banana. There were loud “Welcome Back” and “Austin Aries” chants. Aries went over his career and if Eli wants to call himself the greatest then he has to beat the greatest any time, anywhere. Eli said Aries has no balls. Aries was kicked low by Adonis. Eli demanded a referee come out for a match.

5. Austin Aries defeated Eli Drake to win the Impact Wrestling Global Championship. Aries quickly sent Eli’s face into a turnbuckle, hit the brainbuster, and became the new world champion.

6. Taiji Ishimori and Matt Sydal defeated Rohit Raju and El Hijo Del Fantasma. Great high flying, fast paced match with Sydal hitting Air Borne on Rohit for the win.

7. Trevor Lee and Caleb Konley beat TECH (TC Reid and Mike Monroe). Konley had a Mexican bandana over his face and Lee has a Puerto Rican one. Lee tried to act like Konnan, but just sounded dumb. Lee and Konley won a quick match. LAX appeared on the screen afterward and warn Trevor and Caleb that they’d made a big mistake.

8. Laurel Van Ness beat Kiera Hogan to retain the Knockouts Championship. Laurel won an OK match. She kept attacking Keira afterward, but Allie came out to chase her away and then held the title afterwards.

9. Hania defeated Amber Nova. Hania controlled most of the match and won fairly convincingly. Rosemary came out of the crowd to attack Hania after the match before she escaped to the back.

10. Johnny Impact defeated EC3, Moose, and Alberto El Patron in a four-way to become No. 1 contender to the Impact Wrestling Global Championship. At one point, all four men were in the crowd and Johnny picked up a recycling bin and hit EC3 with it. The ref threw up the X sign. No one left the match, but Moose was limping a lot outside and may have hurt his knee or ankle. The finish came with Johnny rolling up EC3 for the win.

Xplosion Match: OVE (w/Sami Callihan) beat TECH. OVE won with a double stomp spike pile driver. Cool looking move.

Xplosion Match: Rosemary beat Amber Nova. Rosemary controlled most of the match and ended it with the Red Wedding.
