James Storm finished his latest run wth Impact Wrestling at last night’s television taping in Ottawa, Ontario. Storm delivered a farewell speech at the end of the taping and also acknowledged his departure at Twitter.com/JamesStormBrand.
Powell’s POV: This should not come as a surprise to anyone given the current financial situation in Impact Wrestling. We have been telling members for weeks in our Dot Net Weekly audio that there are sure to be some bigger names leaving the company once their current deals expire. The company is in cost cutting mode and has approached some talent about taking pay cuts. In Storm’s case, his deal expires in early 2018 and last night was scheduled to be his final appearance. Storm has worked for TNA/Impact since 2002 aside from a brief run in NXT in 2015.
