NXT Live Event
St. Paul, Minnesota at Roy Wilkins Auditorium
Report by Dot Net Member Nathan Timm (and Jason Biagi)

1. Johnny Gargano pinned Killian Dain.

2. Ruby Riot and Liv Morgan defeated Bianca Belair and Sonya Deville. Riot pinned Belair.

3. Hideo Itami beat Kassius Ohno. Ohno elbowed an exposed turnbuckle and then took a GTS, which led to Itami getting the win. The referee played with that buckle before match and it fell off before match started.

4. Drew McIntyre and Aleister Black defeated Andrade “Cien” Almas and Velveteen Dream. McIntyre pinned Dream after a Claymore Kick.

Intermission. The action has been very good so far. Nothing even slightly below average.

5. Ember Moon defeated Mandy Rose. Ember won with the Eclipse.

6. Eric Young and Alexander Wolfe defeated Heavy Machiner. Killian Dain interfered to help his fellow Sanity members get the win.

7. Bobby Roode defeated Roderick Strong to retain the NXT Championship. Roddy knocked out the referee. A second ref came out to count two for Roddy. The second ref checked on first referee. Roode low blowed Strong and then hit two DDTs for the win. After the match, Drew McIntyre came back out to cut a promo about Takeover and taking the belt from Roode, who bailed after a staredown.

Notes: It was definitely much smaller crowd than when NXT ran the same venue in Septmeber. The lower portion of the building was almost full, but the upper half was empty across from stage at intermission. One side had maybe 30 people and the other had maybe 70 people. It filled up more as the show went on, but not much more. Shawn Michaels attended the show but did not poked his head out that I saw.
