Additional John Cena comments on his availability for WrestleMania 32

imagesJohn Cena spoke with the media at the Daytona 500 on Saturday and FOX Sports ran more comments from him regarding a potential return to the ring in time for WrestleMania 32. “”It would be personally unfortunate for me to miss WrestleMania,” Cena said. “But if I can’t perform, it would be unfortunate for the people watching WrestleMania to see me suffer through something that isn’t worthy of the event.

“I take a very unselfish approach to my job and what I do because people spend their hard-earned money to enjoy what we do,” added Cena. “And our goal is to deliver the best show possible. I know there will be a WrestleMania 33 and 34 and 35,” said Cena. “And hopefully 100.” Read more at FOXsports.com

Powell’s POV: Cena is six weeks removed from surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff. He recently said that it was time to “gamble” for a couple weeks, but he did not specify. It was certainly interpreted as Cena pushing his rehab to get back in the ring rather than hinting that he intended to play a session at his local bingo parlor. If nothing else, we know he’s healthy enough to drive given that he drove the pace car at the Daytona 500 race today.
