New Japan Pro Wrestling reportedly signs wrestler up for WWE trainer position

New Japan Pro Wrestling has reportedly signed Rocky Romero to a contract. ProwrestlingSheet.com reports that Romero signed a two-year deal with New Japan.

Powell’s POV: Romero was up for a trainer’s position at the WWE Performance Center. As Zack Zimmerman and I discussed in Thursday’s Dot Net Weekly, he was said to be torn as to whether to take the trainer’s job or continue wrestling. It had to be a tough call given that he’s only 33 years-old. I am surprised that WWE apparently didn’t express interest in using him as a wrestler.
