Jasper Troy released from his NXT deal

Jasper Troy (Antione Frazier) indicated via social media that he was released from his NXT deal. Troy wrote, “30 Days,” and included a black heart emoji in a tweet that can be viewed below or via his Twitter/X page.

Powell’s POV: ProWrestling.net has confirmed that there will be additional, which was first reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com. Mike also reported that there are not expected to be any main roster cuts today.

Troy’s 30-day tweet is due to the 30-day non-compete clause in his NXT contract (main roster wrestlers typically have 90-day non-competes). The fact that he mentioned the 3o-day clause would seem to suggest that he intends to move forward as a pro wrestler.

Troy played college football at Kansas and the University of Northern Iowa before signing with WWE in 2022. At 6’5″ and over 300 pounds, Troy has the size that WWE typically covets. He was the first season men’s winner of WWE LFG and had a 105-day run with the WWE Speed Championship. The female winner of WWE LFG season one, Tyra Mae Steele (Tamyra Mensah-Stock), was released back in April. Hopefully, things will work out better for season two LFG winners Shiloh Hill and Skylar Raye (Dani Sekelsky). On a side note, the season three winners will be revealed on Sunday’s LFG television show on A&E.
