AEW Dynamite results (10/21): Powell’s review of the WrestleDream fallout show with Will Ospreay and Adam Copeland vs. Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight, Ilja Dragunov vs. Mike Bailey

By Jason Powell, ProWrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet)

AEW Dynamite (Episode 368)
Coral Gables, Florida, at the Watsco Center
Simulcast live October 21, 2026, on TBS and HBO Max

[Hour One] Excalibur opened the show and was joined at the broadcast table by Taz and Tony Schiavone. Excalibur ran through the lineup…

Ring announcer Justin Roberts delivered the introductions for the opening match. The Young Bucks made their entrance. Renee Paquette spoke briefly at ringside, and then Mark Davis and Jake Doyle’s entrance followed…

1. AEW Tag Team Champions “The Young Bucks” Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson vs. Mark Davis and Jake Doyle in an eliminator match. Don Callis sat in on commentary. Davis and Doyle were dominant from start to finish. Davis performed three piledrivers on Matt. Doyle had Nick in a bearhug until he dropped him to the mat. Davis covered Matt while Doyle put his foot on Nick while the referee (yes, of course it was Rick Knox) made the three count.

Mark Davis and Jake Doyle defeated AEW Tag Team Champions “The Young Bucks” Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson in 2:55 in an eliminator match.

Don Callis stood and applauded before joining his team inside the ring. The broadcast team noted that Davis and Doyle earned a shot at the AEW Tag Team Titles…

Powell’s POV: I love it. This reestablished the Davis and Doyle tag team in a major way. Kudos to the Bucks for taking a squash loss to help make Davis and Doyle. On a side note, WrestleTix listed the venue as being set up for 3,633, with 3,270 tickets distributed. The total number of seats on the map is 7,562. The last time AEW ran the venue, 3,900 tickets were distributed for the January 15, 2020, AEW Dynamite, which carried the Bash at the Beach theme.

A WrestleDream recap video aired…

Adam Copeland made his entrance. The fans sang his song after it stopped playing. Will Ospreay’s entrance followed. Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher made their entrance…

2. Will Ospreay and Adam Copeland vs. Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight. Don Callis remained on commentary. The crowd chanted “holy shit” after the bell rang, and then Copeland and Knight started the match. The heels had offensive control heading into an early picture-in-picture break. [C]

AEW International Champion Kazuchika Okada came out, climbed onto the apron, and held up his title belt while staring at Copeland. Ospreay pulled Okada to the floor and hit him with a rolling elbow. Knight jumped off the apron and hit Ospreay.

In the ring, Copeland hit the Killswitch on Fletcher. Knight went for a springboard move, but Copeland speared him. The referee checked on Knight. Copeland went for a spear on Fletcher, who leapfrogged him, and then Copeland ran head-first into the title belt that Okada held up in the corner. Fletcher performed a brainbuster on Copeland before pinning him.

Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight defeated Will Ospreay and Adam Copeland in 13:25.

Copeland bled, and the announcers said he had a hematoma on his forehead. Okada entered the ring and attacked Copeland and hit him with a Rainmaker.

Mark Davis, Jake Doyle, and Wardlow came out and entered the ring. The Callis Family members surrounded the babyfaces. Ospreay tried to fight, but he was outnumbered. Wardlow hit Ospreay with a lariat. Callis dropped to his knees and presented the AEW World Championship belt to Fletcher, who then hit Ospreay with it.

Darby Allin, Steven Borden, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson came out with weapons and worked over the heels briefly. Borden got a mic and said, “I’m back for Blood & Guts”… [C]

Powell’s POV: It’s an amazing coincidence that the babyfaces want to face the Callis Family in a Blood & Guts match, and AEW just happens to have a Blood & Guts match advertised for November 4! I really wish WarGames and all the knockoffs were presented as if they came together organically. Putting that aside, I like that they’re going babyface vs. heel, as there was some suspicion that the Callis Family would face the Death Riders in the Blood & Guts match. The Bucks being in the Blood & Guts match is fine, but it felt like there should have been more distance between their squash loss and making the save. Copeland told Ospreay at WrestleDream that he’s coming after the AEW World Championship, but it looked like they set up Ospreay vs. Fletcher, and Okada vs. Copeland.

Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana made their entrance, while Swerve’s opponent was already in the ring…

3. Swerve Strickland (w/Prince Nana) vs. Tome Filip. Swerve hit Filip with a House Call before the bell. The referee checked on Filip, who idiotically indicated that he was ready. Swerve beat up Filip before putting him away with a Vertebreaker…

Swerve Strickland beat Tome Filip in 0:25.

Powell’s POV: I think this would have been Filip’s night had Swerve not hit that House Call before the opening bell. Prove me wrong!

AEW Women’s Champion Mercedes Mone was shown walking backstage while Excalibur said she would speak later in the show…

4. Orange Cassidy and Jay White vs. Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia. The entrances were televised. Yuta and Garcia had Cassidy and White down on the floor before a PIP break roughly four minutes into the match. [C]
