WWE Live Event
Tallahassee, Florida at Donald L. Tucker Civic Center
Report by Dot Net reader Michael Ruffin
The arena was half-full and fans were spread out so it looked empty with roughly 75 percent kids.
1. Zack Ryder and Jey Uso beat Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. Slow match. The Club really worked the heat. Jey and Ryder really got the chants going. Uso and Ryder won with a nice combo of a duel superkick into a Rough Ryder, followed with an Uso splash. Great warm up match!
2. Sin Cara beat Viktor. Man, nobody cares about Viktor. Kids loved the Sin Cara trampoline ring entrance. For the Lucha Dragons not being a team, they really are still getting the “Lucha!” chant over. He’s using the Lucha Dragons theme as well. Lots of flips. Lots of rest holds. Sin Cars reversed a powerbomb into a head scissors and a rollup for the win. Wow! A Sin Cara win! I’ve seen everything!
3. Charlotte defeated Alicia Fox. Typical back and forth. It looked like Alicia tried a few new moves including a nice head scissors. Charlotte worked heat by doing the Florida Gator chomp in an FSU arena. Awesome! The crowd quickly started “The Chop”. Fox botched a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker but it still looked cool. Charlotte won with the Figure 8. She did a “Woooo” in an old lady’s face and did “The Chomp” one more time for a good heat pop. Foxy led the crowd in “The Chop” to ease the heel win.
4. Apollo Crews beat Sheamus. Sheamus cut an in-match promo about FSU being a “second rate school”. It got some heat, but Charlotte got way more! A slow paced match with lots of roll outs and rest holds. Crews hit a standing moonsault and Sheamus hit two White Noises. Crews rolled up a out of a third White Noise attempt for the win.
5. New Day beat The Wyatt Family. HUGE pop for New Day! Xavier Woods worked 80 percent of the match. The really played on the psychology between Woods and Wyatt. New Day won with a combo top rope Big Ending. Great match!!
Intermission. It was announced that there were free Roman Reigns autographed posters at the merch table. The crowd took off for them! Again, for the children.
6. Titus O’Neil and Darren Young defeated Bo Dallas and Heath Slater. A Prime Time Players reunion!! A good back from break match. The Social Outcasts took a victory lap break. Titus hit Dallas with the Clash of the Titus. Young hit Slater with The Gut Check for the win. There was a PTP dance on the ramp to a nice pop. Possible comeback?
7. Kevin Owens pinned Neville. Amazing match! It was mostly for KO’s brilliant interaction with fans! He cut a in-match promo and got into it with a local lady who was giving him the finger. Owens called her a “classy lady who’d be single forever and die alone.” Amazing!! KO rolled to avoid a Red Arrow and won with a dirty pin with his feet on the ropes. Owens immediately rolled out and got into it with a the local again. Owens also yelled as a kid wearing a Sami Zayn shirt on the way out. So good!
8. Roman Reigns defeated AJ Styles and Seth Rollins in a Triple Threat. Reigns was MEGA OVER! Here begins the Roman Reigns Redemption Tour. A great main event! Everybody got their big moves in. There was no Styles Clash, but Styles performed a Phenomenal Forearm and a Falcon’s Arrow. AJ and Seth double teamed on Roman to start. They eventually sent him out of the ring. The crowd chanted for them to fight. The both bounced off the ropes and charged at each other, only to hug it out. Awesome! The crowd chanted for Roman the entire time. Smart fans tried to get the AJ and Seth chants started but the kids won tonight. Lots of Superman Punches, at least 5 or 6. Roman won with a spear to AJ, who sold it like he was broken in half. The crowd left on fire!
Biggest Pops: Roman Reigns, Jey Uso and Zack Ryder, Seth Rollins, AJ Styles.
Hottest Heat: Kevin Owens, Charlotte
Crickets: Victor and (sadly) Darren Young
