By Jason Powell, ProWrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet)

New Japan Pro Wrestling announced that the return of the Super J-Cup tournament for the first time in three years and announced that the three-day event will be held in the United States. Round one will be held on August 22 in Tacoma, Washington at Temple Theater. Round two will be held on August 24 in San Francisco, California at SFSU Student Life Events Center. The semifinals and finals will be held on August 25 in Long Beach, California at Walter Pyramid. Read the official announcement at NJPW1972.com.

Powell’s POV: Tickets for the events go on sale on June 24. This is the first time that the 16-man, single elimination tournament will be held in the United States. There’s no official word yet as to whether AXS TV will broadcast any of these shows, but we’ll let you know if that changes.
