The following matches are advertised for NXT Takeover: XXV, which will be held on June 1 in Bridgeport, Connecticut at Webster Bank Arena.
-Johnny Gargano vs. Adam Cole for the NXT Championship
-Shayna Baszler vs. Io Shirai for the NXT Women’s Championship
Powell’s POV: The Gargano vs. Cole match is a rematch from NXT Takeover: New York. The match is built around Cole pointing out that he defeated Gargano in the first fall of their best of three falls match. The NXT Tag Titles were vacated by the Viking Raiders on last night’s NXT television show. William Regal will make an announcement regarding the tag titles on next week’s show that will likely play into the Takeover event.
